Nice 'n' laid back jazzy affair, different from their usual style.

y'know i'm out of sorts today - the neighbours (lovely people), are having their garden scaped, nice! sitting in living room i commented to miss t.s. 'making a racket out there', to which she quipped 'aye, they're tearing your fence down!' 'yeah, yeah, very amusing' to think no more about it, till i went through to the kitchen a couple of minutes later to be met by the bone crunching sound of my fence (which i made myself, b.t.w.!) being ripped from the post! in a fury i flung open the door 'w.t.f. are you doing with my fence?' 'oh, we've been told to replace it due to decking going down. did no-one tell you?' no. cue rant at contractor! i had to go out soon after, and neighbours have gone away for weekend, so i'm left in a kind of curious nagging limbo, wondering why this had never been mentioned by my, honestly, great neighbours of 20 years! it has been replaced by a bigger, some might say sturdier fence, but i remain in perplexity! i wouldn't have been difficult to deal with if forewarned! anyway...................

Oops?!! - perhaps your Neighbours have no idea as to what the Contractors are actually doing? I'm not sure that I'd want to go away anywhere while anyone just ran riot through my House and Garden without at least some supervision - LOL! ;o>

I actually bought it because, despite only knowing the one track of it that was recently used on a new season trailer ad on the Drama Channel, I was intrigued by Aquilo being two young lads from a small place called Silverdale which I always pass through on my frequent Train journeys back and forth through Cumbria.
And now I feel all suitably soothed and dreamy and chilled out I'm off to try and get back to sleep ... x NN x ;o>

For my money, one of the best guitar solos ever:-)

Never heard it before, Derek. As a big Hawkwind fan in the seventies/eighties I was pretty miffed when Michael Moorcock defected to BÖC. I did buy Mirrors, featuring Moorcock's The Great Sun Jester, but never got around to any other BÖC albums.
It is a good guitar solo. Probably not your cup of PG Tips but I'd also recommend UFO's live recording of Rock Bottom:

Intrumental break begins around 3:45 (in case you can't stand Phil Mogg's vocals).

I've got that album Gordon but haven't played it for years. I agree it is a cracking guitar solo but I prefer BOC. Not that bothered about Phil Mogg's voice, it's pretty much 'hard rock standard'. I'd rather listen to him than the likes of Glenn Hughes:-)

Speaking of doors;

Listened to your nomination from the album on the voting thread, and that sounds wonderful.

The music's fine for the most part - funky - and it sounds great. But it's too long and some of the lyrics are a bit cringe worthy.

I'd certainly like to shove that infernal and ubiquitous drum machine (he gives it a fancier name) where the sun don't shine and no sound can emerge.

Trying to do a link to V - The Horrors

It's ok, but unlike most of the reviewers I'm not liking it that much. Maybe it's a bit too poppy/commercial?

You're almost unrecognisable without it

Then our lass went out so it's up with the volume and on with the 'What's THIS cr@p?' tuneage;

I don't know if there is anyone from the rock, or metal forums, but it's worth a go. I'll just play a random track off Itunes, and see what it is.
