Started yesterday the first novel of a Danish trilogy Childhood; strange so far. I hope to finish it by today to think about it more clearly

I'm at the moment reading - actually listening - Mrs. March ; finding t extreamly interesting, on a feminist point of view

I have heard good things about the book Laura, though I have not read it yet. Eager to see what you think!

But I have listened a lot of her music over the years, and she is just so wildly talented and original as well as often quite strange and profane. But more than anything she definitely has the soul of a poet in her imagery and the way she thinks; it's so intense. The lyrics sometimes give me chills of pleasure!

Definitly so Greg! Liking it quite a lot, I'm actually listening to it read by the singer herself!

Esther (eshchory) | 1368 comments I have just finished All the Broken Places (Boy in the Striped Pyjamas #2) by John Boyne All the Broken Places by John Boyne.
I was cautious about reading it because of the controversy but for me it was a 4 stars read. I like John Boyne's writing style but his storytelling covers such a wide range. This was a solid 4 stars but not quite as stunning as some of his best.

Esther (eshchory) | 1368 comments I am close to finishing the audio of Babel, Or the Necessity of Violence An Arcane History of the Oxford Translators’ Revolution by R.F. Kuang Babel, Or the Necessity of Violence: An Arcane History of the Oxford Translators’ Revolution.
A bit dogmatic for me and not quite living up to the hype but I am enjoying it.

Esther (eshchory) | 1368 comments And I have just started The Frangipani Tree Mystery (Crown Colony, #1) by Ovidia Yu The Frangipani Tree Mystery.
A light bookclub read in a setting that creates quite a contrast with Babel.
