anthea I thought as a book it was good, but as an ending to a trilogy, it wasn't.
What do you think?

Becky I think it was too short, and the ending was a bit of a cop out for me. I wanted to see America and Maxon properly stand up to the King as a united force, and I wanted Amberly to stand up to him too.

Tamara I loved this series but I hated that she went on a killing spree at the end. I wanted to see how the the castes were brought down and see America and Maxon as an actual couple. maybe she will write another novella and show this.

So, great book, bad ending.

Khrisma M. I'm just hoping there's a novella. Maybe she could call it The Family or something because I really want to see America and Maxon's kid >.< I feel sort cheated by this book. It was wonderful but choppy.

Ilana i agree that i think that the end was rushed and the epilogue didn't do it justice. i feel like there was so much that could have been done to make things even more detailed towards the end to fall in line with the first 2/3 of the book, and then we had an attack happen and poof we were at the end.

i agree that a novella would be great - since we really didn't get to see how things were far enough into the future. i feel like that would take the ending that much further where we want it to go.

Elena NOO, i didn't. I totally hate it. the entire trilogy is horrible, stupid and helpless. #sorrynotsorry. America is retard.

Natasha Lumley The ending was sweet and everything but it didn't really show much of the real moral concepts with the castes come full circle. I think too much of the story was based around the slow elimination of the girls and then to just end it quickly they killed off the king and queen so we never got to see America really face up to the King. Though I can't really see how anything could ever had happened in the book if the King didn't lose his reign. Maxon was never going to change anything with his dad watching over his shoulder

You're so right.

Bess I don't like it how the way the book was going in the end.

Mimi Gonzales I think I'm still lacking the 'Maxon feels' in the end, like it was a bit rushed. I enjoyed the series a lot, so you could tell how much I am dying for maybe a novella just to see how America and Maxon are without the distractions of other girls. I could really see potential in these characters. I am excited for The Queen, though, but maybe she could also release 'The Couple' (LOL sorry) -- but anyway, you get the point. WE WANT MORE!

Amanda Alexandre I hated Maxon in The Elite, I hated him even more in The One.
The whole book was predictable. It was predictable that she'd end up with Maxon, that Aspen would be with Lucy (see how that Aspen/Lucy thing happened in 10 minutes?), it was predictable that America's father was a rebel...

The only surprise I had was when Kriss revealed herself as a rebel and Celeste's fate...

I hated that the killing spree came at the end and wasn't spaced out between the books. I hated the fact that the rebels were still under developed. I hated a lot about this book. So, no I didn't like this book as an ending or as a novel on its own

Rachel E. Carter I honestly was disappointed. The only book in the series I really liked was the first. Maxon seemed too much like a player in the second and third and I HATED America. I felt like their romance dragged on forever and the book series could have easily been condensed to one book

I really sort of wanted to see Amberly to stand up too, but I think she just loved the King too much to do so. Which is weird, I know, especially with the way the King treats Maxon (AKA the whip marks on his back), but Amberly doesn't know about that. It sort of made me sad that Amberly didn't because I wanted her to, you know (which I think you do)? But I think I sort of get why we didn't get to see her do so. I mean, she even jumped in front of the King to try and save his life in the end.

Mary Ann Khalil I don't like the way the ends in this book were tied. For example, how can we solve the problems with the king? Let's kill him. Or what about the fact that Anne will be heartbroken because Lucy and Aspen are together? No problem, we'll kill her, too. Let's kill all the unnecessary characters so that we don't have to deal with them. Plus, America doesn't seem the least bit bothered that lots of her loved ones (Anne, Queen Amberly, Celeste...) died. She's forgotten all about it and moves on within seconds. She doesn't even feel bad about Aspen moving on so fast! I mean, doesn't she feel the least bit bothered?! I guess the book is still nice, I just think the end was just carelessly written.

Jennifer Dupriest I totally agree.
The book was good, but when I reached the ending and realized that this was the end of this trilogy, I was disappointed. She left so many unanswered questions out there. It would have been nice if she had decided to write a fourth book to explain everything more thoroughly.
