The Mookse and the Gripes discussion

Hello, all. Just popping in to say "hi". I just joined Goodreads today, but have been an active participant at the Mookse website for a while. I love the idea of a short story tournament. I've previously read only 16 of the 64 stories here, but I hope to read many more of them when the battle begins.

Welcome, David! I had only read one of these when it was announced (Foster, from a Mookse New Yorker story years ago). I have now read all 64 and have made notes so that I can remember them.

The story "In The Gloaming" by Alice Elliott Dark appears to be a bit hard to find. For anyone who wants free, legal, and easy access to an online copy of the story, type "Caregiving: Readings in Knowledge, Practice, Ethics, and Politics" (seriously - this isn't a joke) into google books and PRESTO! It runs from pages 5 to 20 and all the pages are visible.

I read the New Yorker archive linked in the list. Quite a few of them are available in the New Yorker archive, though not as easy to read as the link you found.
