Sci-Fi & Fantasy Girlz discussion

OK, Girlz & Boyz, we're doing something a little different this time around. Let's call it the Sadie Hawkins Poll:

The first four book recommendations to this thread that are appropriate to the Girlz group (i.e. a SF/F book length work by a female author or with primarily female protagonist/s) go on the poll for November. One recommendation each.

Any recommendations after the first four will go on the poll for December.

So, it's an open field, groupies. What do you think we should read? (Or vote on reading, I guess....)

Red Sister just finished this one and highly recommended. Fits well with this group.

I know it's not SF/F, but it is written by a woman...actually a woman and her pet pussy cat. Wish You Were Here by Rita Mae Brown and Sneaky Pie Brown. It's a murder mystery.

Have we done anything else by Ursula? I would recommend The Dispossessed!

Whoops sorry. Wasn't around then. I should have checked the list first.

ETA: Having checked the list, the group has read both Left Hand of Darkness and Lathe of Heaven for Ursula.
