SciFi and Fantasy Book Club discussion

I'm trying to find a short story I read years ago in some anthology. It was about 5 or 6 space travelers who get eaten by some blob, and wake up as brains trapped in the blob. Eventually, they learn to grow appendages and eyes. I don't remember much else, but i think it was titled something like Five in One. Anyone know what this was, and who wrote it?
