Ivy Truong | 2 comments So recently I bought death on the Nile kindle version and i was surprised it was only $0.99 . And turns out it was Parker Payne and not with hercule poirot . Is there two versions of the story ?

Donald Scott (writeondon) | 16 comments No, somehow you got the wrong book, or a pirated copy that's completely jacked up; Parker Pyne isn't in it at all, it's strictly a Poirot novel.

Ivy Truong | 2 comments Yep it’s so weird the book cover says Parker Pyne death on the Nile.

From the Agatha Christie website:
"In fact Poirot and Parker Pyne share many things, not least the title Death on the Nile (a short story for Pyne and a novel for Poirot). Poirot was also replaced by Parker Pyne in the short story The Regatta Mystery when it was published in a US collection in 1939. Perhaps Agatha Christie felt it was time for a new and different style of detection."
According to Wikipedia 'Problem at Pollensa Bay' is another short story in which Poirot was later replaced by Parker Pyne.
