Hello Jennifer,
Thanks for your question. And thank you LeAnn and New Adult Book Club for hosting this Q and A as well as the giveaway. (Don't forget to enter)

TMITBS will be released soon (In December). Right now, I've started writing another book about Gabriel and Julia that will come after "Gabriel's Redemption." It will be a novella.
Thank you for reading,
SR.

Sylvain Reynard (sylvainreynard) | 74 comments Tonya wrote: "What brought you to write this?"

Hello Tonya. Thanks for your question.

My inspiration for The Florentine Series was the story of Cupid and Psyche. Psyche is courted by Cupid, who falls in love with her, but doesn't allow her to see his face. She begins to fall in love with him, too, but doesn't trust herself and determines to see him.

This myth provided the underpinnings for the paranormal story of the Prince and Raven, set against the backdrop of contemporary Florence, Italy.

Hello Maria,
Thanks for your question.

My inspiration is drawn from literature, music, and paintings. But much of my inspiration for The Florentine Series came from Florence, itself. It's one of my favourite cities in the world and I was fortunate enough to live there for a time. I really enjoyed wandering the streets and admiring the architecture, which later inspired my novels.

Hello Jemima,
Thanks for your question. I'm proud to have readers in India and around the world. I haven't organized a public book signing yet ... but I'm certainly grateful to all the readers around the world and I'm very thankful for their support. A trip to India would be wonderful,

Hello Nicole.
Thanks for your question.
Recently, I read Deborah Harkness' "All Souls Trilogy." It was incredible. Highly recommended. I also enjoy fantasy literature by JRR Tolkien and CS Lewis, in addition to modern fantasy tales.
All best,

Boa noite, MiDourado. Muito obrigado pela leitura.
I'm working on the 4th book in the Gabriel series, which will be a novella.
The heroine of my next book "The Man in the Black Suit," which released in a couple of weeks, is Brazilian.
And I'd like very much to visit Brazil.

Hello Chloe.
Thank you. And thanks for your questions.

Yes, I'm writing the fourth book in the Gabriel series. It will be a novella, focused on Gabriel and Julia, and will pick up after "Gabriel's Redemption". I should have more details soon, but in the meantime, I've been suggesting readers re-read "Gabriel's Redemption" in preparation .... :)
Thank you for reading.
All the best,

Hello Debra,
Thanks for your question.
I've been writing since childhood. For me, it's something I've always felt compelled to do, but I became a professional author late in life.
I've been very blessed that I get to do what I love on a daily basis.
All best,
SR

Hello Sisa,
Thank you. And thanks for your question.

The Florentine Series focused on vampyres (and other monsters). I've been toying with the idea of writing a fantasy/paranormal series that centres on a wizard ...

Hello Beatrice,
Thank you. And thanks for your question.

"The Man in the Black Suit" was inspired by a recent return to Paris and all the sights and experiences. This novel is different from my others because it's contemporary romance/suspense. There's a lot of twists and turns as well as a lot of travel and intrigue. I think readers will really enjoy it. It was tremendous fun to write.
Best,
SR

It will be a novella that begins where "Gabriel's Redemption" ended.

Hello Siddhi.
Thank you.
And thank you for your question.

I find art and sculpture inspiring, just as I find literature inspiring. In my writing, I tried to weave together all these elements, especially against the backdrop of the cities of Florence and Paris.

Thanks for reading,

Hello Emily,
Thanks for your question.

I think Deborah Harkness is an exceptional writer, and I was fortunate she read and enjoyed "The Raven" very much.

EL James is a friend of mine. I'm fortunate we were able to tour Florence together recently: http://sylvainreynard.com/visiting-fl...

Hello Whitney,
Thanks for your question.

I really enjoyed writing William, the Prince of Florence. It was a challenge to write him because he hails from the 13th century.

I also enjoyed writing Gabriel, the Professor from The Gabriel Series.

All best,
SR

"The Prince" was only published as an ebook in English. But it was published in print in Czech, Polish, Spanish, and Portuguese.

Boa Tarde, Andressa.
Muito obrigado pela leitura.

I'm working on bringing "The Roman" to Brazil.

I find some of the villains difficult to write, because their way of thinking is so difficult from my own. There are a couple of villains in my new book "The Man in the Black Suit," that really challenged my writing.

All the best,

Hello Lex,
Thank you. And thanks for your question.

I have a lot of admiration for Julia, Raven, and Acacia (who is the heroine of "The Man in the Black Suit.") So if I could be greedy, I'd schedule a day with these three lovely ladies.

I'd never be able to afford it but if I could, I'd like Botticelli's "Primavera."

Bom Dia, Thais.
Muito obrigado.

Florence is an incredible city. It has beautiful architecture in an incredible landscape. The city is old and so there are lots of alleys and narrow streets. I lived there for a time and was captivated by the city. It's very easy to imagine supernatural beings lurking about, especially after dark.

Thank you for reading,
SR
