combined the 3 strays all with inaccurate names (pub, reverse order, only 1 of the names)
I'm not sure what you mean by the second part of your request. It seems to be combined with equal versions

https://www.goodreads.com/work/editio... what it's combined with.

As for the second part of the request, I'll confess ignorance. What we have is one book by Gustave Flaubert. In some editions, it's published as one volume. In others, as two. Is there a general GR policy on how to handle that, especially if someone (in many cases, a bot from one of those companies that download free text of out-of-copyright books and contrary to terms of usage publish it for profit) creates separate entries for single volumes?
I know we want to only combine equal editions. We wouldn't want to combine a book that is 2 parts of 1 with the original book. And we wouldn't combine the 2 parts together. That would be three listings
-1 volume
-volume 1of2
-volume 2of2
Sometimes we even make a series out of the parts to keep them together https://www.goodreads.com/series/1995...
As you can see they are all individual listings.
Sounds like you are suggesting there is some messy combining going on. You may want to explain what you have found that is wrong with some examples. Also, you could change the folder in your subject header to "Looking for a Project" and the title to something like "un-combining multi-volumes"
