Jamie (belalusia) My favorite color is pink, but I don't know of many good books with pink in the title... Anyone have any suggestions?

Throw out some other colors too, I didn't see this topic listed in the thread with all the challenges.

message 2: by Tara (new)

Tara Bates | 1008 comments The thread is there for sure :) I can't think of any off the top of my head but there have to be a few

Here's the link to the thread: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

There's already been some discussion about pink in there. You can also do a book search for "pink" and then restrict the search to just titles. Rose is an alternative to pink if none of the titles appeal to you.

Jeeps (immovabletype) (immovabletype) My favorite color is also pink, and I can't find a single book with the word "pink" in the title, so I'm cheating/taking it literally (depending on your perspective) and reading a book with a title in pink font. :')

Diane Lupton | 136 comments One Pink Line by Dina Silva. I haven't read it so I can't give it a recommendation but it has been on my tbr list.

Katie Kaste (brite0321) | 26 comments Purple is a tough one... if you don’t want “the Color Purple.”

message 7: by Jacqueline (new)

Jacqueline | 407 comments Purple isn't that hard really. There are a lot with Lavender in the title.

There are a lot of purples! Off the top of my head (and I'm sorry I can't include links from the app): The Color Purple, Purple Hibiscus, Riders of the Purple Sage, Passion of the Purple Plumeria, Harold and the Purple Crayon .... I'm sure there are more, just do a search! And then there are all the variants: violet, plum, lavender, orchid, lilac, periwinkle, aubergine, grape, magenta, blackberry, amethyst, etc ...

message 9: by Tara (new)

Tara Bates | 1008 comments Pinkaliscious and purpleliscious are kids books that are cute for this

message 10: by amber (new)

amber (amaleereneex) My favourite colour is yellow! Has to be, it is such a happy colour

message 11: by Wendy (last edited Nov 21, 2017 11:22AM) (new)

Wendy (wendyneedsbooks) | 131 comments It might be a slight stretch but you could do a search for "rose" instead of pink. There are a lot of books with that in the title. I had a list of them in the thread mentioned above! :)

message 12: by Emanuel (new)

Emanuel | 253 comments My colour is blue, and i put Azul from Carlos Canto Moniz on my challenge list.

message 13: by Katie (new)

Katie Kaste (brite0321) | 26 comments Those are awesome purple titles

Good call! I really like that series, too.

I haven't done a search yet, but lavender is my favorite color! Does anyone have any recommendations?

Don't know whether any would be of interest here, but these all seem to have "Pink Flamingo" in their title:

message 19: by Piajensen13 (new)

Piajensen13 | 52 comments My favorite color is green - or being more specific bottle green. I was lucky enough to find this book when doing a search here on Goodreads: One Green Bottle.
It is also about mental health, so if I get distracted and find another "green" book I might use it in the other prompt.

message 20: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (amaflynn) I was thinking of Yellow, orange or green:
Does anyone suggest any of these over others?

Anne of Green Gables
the Green Mile
Orange is the new Black (not sure want to read)
the orange girl (might do for Nordic Noire?)
Orange is not the only fruit

Half a Yellow Sun (already read this, but it's good!)
Yellow Crocus
Yellow Wallpaper( practically a classic)
A Yellow raft in Blue water

message 21: by Chinook (new)

Chinook | 731 comments Orange is not the Only Fruit I thought was a really great book. I love Winterson. Yellow Wallpaper is really good - and super short, so if you get behind in your reading, maybe a short story would be helpful. Anne of Green Gables I haven’t read since I was a teenager, but man, I loved that book so much. And as a bonus, you could watch the new Netflix series and compare them.

Thanks! I have watched both Anne ofGreen Gables series the original I watched when I was a kid. (loved the new one also)! But never read the books - seems like it might be fun.

message 23: by Crumb (new)

Crumb | 395 comments My favorite color is purple.. and I so wish it were green.. because I am jealous of all the titles with green in it.. however, I am sticking with purple and not cheating. Can anyone give me any suggestions? I don't mind doing a variation on purple.. such as lavender..?

message 24: by Maureen (new)

Maureen | 21 comments For purple try The Lilac Girls by Martha Hall Kelly

Crumb | 395 comments Maureen wrote: "For purple try The Lilac Girls by Martha Hall Kelly"

Maureen, that is so funny that you just mentioned this.. I had just decided that I was going to read Lilac Girls.. and I had literally JUST posted that in the thread for this prompt.

If you’re open to a children’s book, I have one for you. Love, Ruby Lavender by Deborah Wiles

message 27: by Harshmi (new)

Harshmi | 13 comments Any recommendations for blue? My favorite colors are blue, purple and green.

Kim | 215 comments Amalee wrote: "My favourite colour is yellow! Has to be, it is such a happy colour"

A Little Yellow Dog, by Walter Mosely. While searching for the title, I also found Yellow Dog, by Martin Amis and The Yellow Dog (Inspector Maigret Book 5), by Georges Simenon. (Someone above mentioned The Yellow Wallpaper! One of my favorite short stories. It was in a favorite anthology of Ghost Stories).

message 29: by Kim (new)

Kim | 215 comments My husband just mentioned one for me! I've already read it, years ago, and loved it. It might be worth reading again. Green Mansions. A classic!

message 30: by Ramona (new)

Ramona (monakersch) | 3 comments Jamie wrote: "My favorite color is pink, but I don't know of many good books with pink in the title... Anyone have any suggestions?

How about Oscar And The Lady In Pink? It's a short but very sweet story!

Ramona (monakersch) | 3 comments Emanuel wrote: "My colour is blue, and i put Azul from Carlos Canto Moniz on my challenge list."

There's also Ramona Blue. Its a YA novel I enjoyed. ;)

If you are up for weird Shades of Grey by Jasper Fforde is one of my favorite books. It's a society that separates itself based upon what colour a person can see and how strongly they can see it.

thank you! may be weird but it sounds very appealing to me!

message 35: by Amy (new)

Amy (amyforthewin) | 42 comments Mine is grey and don’t you dare say it!

message 36: by Crumb (new)

Crumb | 395 comments I won't say it!! What I will suggest is a historical fiction YA book, Between Shades of Grey by Ruta Supetys.

message 37: by Flick (new)

Flick (optimisticflick) | 9 comments I'm going with The Green Mile

message 38: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Kennard | 0 comments I don't have a favourite colour, so am going to read Black Like Me for this part of the challenge. Black is, after all, all colours...

message 39: by Cassie (new)

Cassie | 11 comments I work in a preschool and so many of those little girls reply with "rainbow" when asked their favorite color....it's a good choice when you can't choose.

I'm not sure where I'll go with this prompt.
But that's half the fun!

message 40: by Johanna (new)

Johanna Ellwood (jpellwood) | 236 comments Katie wrote: "Purple is a tough one... if you don’t want “the Color Purple.”"

I have a few on my list. Purple Hibiscus, Tolstoy and the Purple Chair: My Year of Magical Reading, The Purple Swamp Hen and Other Stories

And like others mentioned, there are so many variations of purple.

message 41: by Claire (new)

Claire (c1airebearw) | 1 comments For Blue:

The Bluest Eye - Toni Morrison
A Solitary Blue - Cynthia Voigt
Blues all around me:the autobiography of BB King
A spool of blue thread - Anne Tyler

Hope this helps.
