Hey JP, I know it was meant as a play on words, but if I"m looking for a how-to book, especially on a topic as serious as recovering from addiction, I would be disappointed that this isn't a how-to book.

HELP! HELP!
I joined the reviews group because I believe in supporting the community. But (I'm feeling a bit embarrassed and slow-witted) I can't seem to figure out on my own how to actually participate (receive recommendations of books to review, etc.). How does this process actually work???
I'd be grateful for the basic "How to's."

Thanks for asking Tom. I see from your profile page you are an author, but does not look like you have an Author Page to me, so the first thing you need to do is create an Author Page. Then you can ask to join any of the review rounds that have 'Now Forming' or 'One wanted' in their name - but do check your books meet the criteria for the round as given in the starting post.

Finally - I completed my author page and am happy to review books - preference #1 historical fiction Napoleonic Wars/ World War II

Great news Tom, You can sign up for the General round which is presently forming, where you book would fit well. Just follow this link and be sure to read the rules in the first post before posting to join the round. Or if you prefer to review only one book and put your own in a pool where it can wait to be picked you can join the one for one thread here instead. :)

Hi E.M. I seem to be missing a couple of reviews. B.B James received my book a while back - I know because she acknowledged it - Kady should have received it at the same time, although I've had no acknowledgement from her and she has yet to post a review. I understand that in this situation I am doing the correct thing in reporting this to you.

Your review refers to 'formula 1' racing. Some readers may construe that as meaning Grand Prix racing whereas the book deals with formula 1 Stock Car racing, a different, much less glamorous, sport.

Technically Frank, 'Formula 1', 'Grand Prix', and 'Formula 1 Stock Car racing' are indeed three completely different forms of motorsport.
Just sayin'...

Love your enthusiasm, guys! She actually drives F2 Stock cars - she can't afford the V8 engined F1 Stocks... One reviewer did his homework so conscientiously that he'd done some Googling and subsequently emailed me with a big concern that the Jay Report had come out in a particular year, AFTER Formula Two had been suspended as a sport. He still hadn't clicked she was F2 wacky races Stocks not the expensive elite sort. Sent him the link to BriSCA F2 website and he went - 'Oh, ok then,' and gave me a good review after all. (I'd sent it to him because he was involved in the Rotherham court cases to check the abuse/race element of it and hadn't expected him to get hung up on the racing rather than the racism!)
