Carrie, we use a book only once, for one task. It is a pretty hard challenge indeed :)

Megan (lahairoi) | 7470 comments Just completed #23 (time travel) - The Invasion of the Tearling by Erika Johansen. I was so confused with this book. I really enjoyed the first book in the series, and the author just took this book in a really odd direction. I liked that we finally figured out the crossing - I had my suspicions. But I definitely left the book feeling more confused and not incredibly excited to read the final installment. Worth reading but only if you can't stop reading a series like me. 3 stars

message 1240: by Megan (new)

Megan (lahairoi) | 7470 comments Just completed #12 (LGBTQIA protagonist) - The Stars Are Legion by Kameron Hurley. I am not this author's target audience. For the first half of the book, the only thing that kept me reading was that it was a selection for my book club. It bothered me that the author focused so much on creating the atmosphere of the book at the beginning that she lost substance in the plot and characters. It got slightly better in the last half of the book, and at the end, I could almost admire what she created. It raised the rating from 2 to 3 stars. I did not enjoy this book and don't recommend it, but there were some interesting moments, so for die-hard sci fi fans, this might be your book.
