Good evening music musers!

Now it's that time to put forward the best music that 2017 produced; your favourite songs or tunes, by any artist/band you liked.

For our newbies..the basic rules are:

Nominate a new song or tune that was released in 2017, and include a link, preferably from You Tube, if it's available, if not then other links are acceptable.

No re-issues or re-releases are acceptable. If the demand is there, we can have one round later on, that can include re-issues and re-releases, if folks want to do this.

Only one artist/band can be nominated per round, however, nominators can nominate another track by previously nominated artists/bands again in another round, providing another nominator hasn't already done so before you.

The only exception to that rule, is those artists that have released work through different bands or projects...in which case this is acceptable. For e.g. in the last round, Sean Lennon was nominated twice, one from his band Ghost Of A Sabre Tooth Tiger & the other from his collaboration with Les Claypool.

Votes are dependant on how many songs have been nominated in a round, but it works like this:

5-9 tracks = 3 votes, 10-14 = 4 votes, 15-19 = 5 votes, 20-24 = 6 votes, 25-29 = 7 votes....and so on.

Nominations stage is between Sunday 10pm to Weds 10pm
Voting stage is between Weds 10pm to Sunday 10pm

Voters do not have to use up all of their votes, if they do not wish to, but points awarded must be equal to the number of votes cast.

Please do check when you post your votes, that yours hasn't clashed with another voter....there appears to be a time delay on goodreads, so refresh your page before posting your votes.

As regards to the no commenting rule during voting..i personally don't have a problem with this, so I'll leave it to the discretion of the participants.

It's not the best name for a band granted, but it's memorable! Stu McKenzie (frontman) originally wanted to call the band Gizzard Gizzard, but they eventually settled on the name they have, due another band member wanting his nick name added to it....aka The Lizard King! I guess Wizard was just added cos it rhymed!

Okee doke than..noms over.

Not as many noms we've as seen in the opening rounds of previous years, but then we weren't all unceremoniously booted out of our old home on Zon and, alas, a few of the old regulars didn't make the journey to our new home. So...high teens it is, with 17 new songs to peruse over.

Weather here is very bright and sunny, but chilly...hope you are all enjoying it where you are...I'm feeling fab tonight...firstly because we had a four legged vistor to our garden today...a lovely healthy fox, replendant in it's reddish fur. I convinced that is the same fox that I briefly met earlier this year in my shed, then a immature youngster still with it's grey coat a looking a tad thin! Now grown up and filled...it looked absolutely gorgeous! It obviously hadn't forgotten that we gave it some ham the last time around!

And secondly, my latest ebay auctions have just landed me a whopping windfall.....so me vinyl war fund is now once again replenished...so more readies to spend on lovely rekkids! Maybe, the double boxset of Moon Duo's latest offerings from this year, would be a good start.
