Going to read Prince of Wolves -- characters Sally & Fane

message 402: by Jaclyn (new)

Jaclyn Great! I'm still on The Scourge. Probably won't finish until tomorrow. Does anyone have anything good planned for the weekend? This is my last weekend before I go back to work. But I'm such a homebody, I just want to relax.

Shannon (countessmom) | 4087 comments Finished Prince of Wolves

message 404: by Shannon (new)

Shannon (countessmom) | 4087 comments I think we are planning on being homebodies ourselves. I am taking my youngest to see a concert at a mall on Sunday. I'm just so happy I got my car back finally! It's been in the shop for 3 days & I've been losing my mind!

message 405: by Shannon (new)

Shannon (countessmom) | 4087 comments Finished Blood Rites character that will work - Cynthia Steele

message 406: by Claire (new)

Claire | 4251 comments I'm back from France. It was great!

I've finished rereading Need. I'm now reading Captivate and I've good hopes to finish it tonight :)

message 407: by Jaclyn (new)

Jaclyn Thanks Shannon!

@Angel, how was France?

@Group--We have a few more hours until the posting deadline. Please let me know if there are any books that you finish between now and then!

@Lilac--Were you able to finish your book this week?

message 408: by Lilac (new)

Lilac (lilac_wales) | 127 comments No, sorry. We had unexpected visitors so I've been more busy than I thought I'd be. But I'm going to be able to finish The Catcher in the Rye today because it's so short and that will work for a few letters
C - title
S - author J.D. Salinger

message 409: by Claire (last edited Aug 02, 2014 07:48AM) (new)

Claire | 4251 comments France was great! even if the weather was bad half of the time :p
the best part was les jardins de Valloires, these gardens were so beautiful ! too bad I couldn't visit the abbey. My borther and sister didn't want to and the visit was to long to do it alone... But I had a great time anyway :)

message 410: by Claire (new)

Claire | 4251 comments I've finished Captivate. But I see that you'll have to use the C for Lilac's book. Luckily one of the main characters' name is Nick, so the book is ok of the N :)

message 411: by Jaclyn (new)

Jaclyn Awesome! Good job, Angel :)

message 412: by Shannon (new)

Shannon (countessmom) | 4087 comments I'll be finished with Just One Drop soon. Character that will work is Tanya Jacobs

message 413: by Shannon (new)

Shannon (countessmom) | 4087 comments Finished Just One Drop

Starting Out of the Dark same characters but also works as an O. Not sure if I can finish before the deadline though -- tons going on today, but I'll see what I can do

message 414: by Lilac (new)

Lilac (lilac_wales) | 127 comments Finished The Catcher in the Rye with a few hours to spare. :)

message 415: by Jaclyn (new)

Jaclyn Thanks everyone!! Great job this week!!

@Shannon, I'll check back before I post to see if you were able to finish your book... But no worries if you don't. I'm sure we can fit it in for next week if we need to :)

message 416: by Claire (new)

Claire | 4251 comments Yes! I did it! I finished Entice just in time to count for this week :)

message 417: by Shannon (new)

Shannon (countessmom) | 4087 comments We had a change in plans so I was able to finish "Out of the Dark" as well

message 418: by Jaclyn (new)

Jaclyn Woo Hoo!! 2 more books! And I also finished The Scourge. We did really great this week everyone! Considering everything that went on this week, we still managed to surpass our week 1 score and we almost did as well as last week. We were only 1 book away! I think that's pretty awesome :) :)

message 419: by Jaclyn (new)

Jaclyn I think my personal plan for next week is to read the shortest books I have that fit the criteria. That way I can fit more in. Unfortunately I return to work on Thursday, so I'm going to try to read as much as possible before then!

message 420: by Shannon (last edited Aug 02, 2014 04:53PM) (new)

Shannon (countessmom) | 4087 comments That's what I did this week. Short & simple.

However, I'm going to start Cast in Flame (400+). Hopefully it'll fit whatever we get next, but I've been patiently waiting since it downloaded Tues. ;)

message 421: by Jaclyn (new)

Jaclyn Knock yourself out! Definitely read something you're excited about :)

message 422: by Jaclyn (last edited Aug 02, 2014 06:11PM) (new)

Jaclyn Historical Fiction is next! Another long one lol

message 423: by Jaclyn (last edited Aug 02, 2014 10:00PM) (new)

Jaclyn I'm reading Shadows right now. It fits L, S, or A.

Heather Perkins (queenallie03) | 110 comments Four I's. That's just mean. Ah well, I have the genre covered with the 3rd book in the Accursed King's series, The Poisoned Crown.

message 426: by Jaclyn (new)

Jaclyn I didn't even snap that we had so many I's lol. I guess I'm still glad we didn't get "humorous". All those o's and u's! And I still wouldn't want "horror" either...o's and r's over and over again lol

message 427: by Heather (new)

Heather Perkins (queenallie03) | 110 comments Jaclyn, if your tempting fate lands us with horror twice in a row, or some other such craziness I'm not even going to be mad. I'm just going to point and laugh, and then pull up calibre and read through all of my o books. XD

Jaclyn Heather wrote: "Jaclyn, if your tempting fate lands us with horror twice in a row, or some other such craziness I'm not even going to be mad. I'm just going to point and laugh, and then pull up calibre and read th..."

Lol! I thought of that!! But points-wise, it looks like we only have 1 week after this one (the top team is only about 600 points away from 2,000), so we should be ok. I'll cross my fingers that we get a good genre for the last one!!

message 429: by Jaclyn (last edited Aug 02, 2014 10:03PM) (new)

Jaclyn I finished Shadows...trying to decide what to read next...

message 430: by Claire (new)

Claire | 4251 comments And we are still 6th ! That's a good position, I think. But 20 points more and would have been in the top 3. It would be awesome of we could manage that :)

I'm reading Endure. It could cover the C (author= Carrie Jones), the N (series= Need), A or I (for the characters Astley and Issie)

message 431: by Sanskriti (last edited Aug 03, 2014 03:53AM) (new)

L: Lucile
R: Rose Bertin

message 432: by Lilac (new)

Lilac (lilac_wales) | 127 comments This week I'll definitely finish Fall of Giants, which also works as historical fiction. Yet again the huge cast of characters mean that it can work for any letter too. It's a shame the game will be over so soon though.

H: Lady Hermia
I: Ilya Kozlov
S: Spirya
T: Tommy Griffiths
O: Olga Vyalov
R: Rosa Hellman
I: Ilya Kozlov
C: Cameron Dewar

message 433: by Jaclyn (new)

Jaclyn Great guys! It looks like we have a lot of flexibility with all those books! For now I'm using them to cover our I's (just one left!), but we can always move things around :)

Yes, I think we did well! Even though we are 6th, we are soooclose points-wise!

message 435: by Claire (new)

Claire | 4251 comments I've finished Endure. I'm reading Undying by V.K. Forrest. The main characters are Arlan and Macy Smith.

Title works for C, author works for S, characters Teela & Nightshade

message 438: by Shannon (new)

Shannon (countessmom) | 4087 comments I'm glad we stayed at 6th, and even happier we are so close points wise. It seems there will be no catching the top 2, but we could definitely finish in the top 5!

I do need to forewarn y'all, I'm going to be crazy busy this week, so I don't think I'll be able to read 19 books again. I am going to aim for about 10-12, but that may be out of reach.

message 439: by Jaclyn (new)

Jaclyn No problem Shannon. You've been awesome these past 3 weeks! You've definitely helped us a lot! :)

message 440: by Shannon (new)

Shannon (countessmom) | 4087 comments I'm going to start Shadow Sight MC is Ivy Granger. Books are short, and with the lead helping with the I, hopefully they'll be decent reads and I can help out with all these dang I's we've been saddled with. ;)

message 441: by Claire (new)

Claire | 4251 comments finished undying!

message 442: by Jaclyn (new)

Jaclyn @Angel--great!! You've helped get us off to a good start!

@Shannon--that would be a big help. Then we can move the other books elsewhere, since they each fit many letters :)

I just finished Fallen Into You. It sucked lol. But at least it was short. Now I need to read something good so I'm gonna finish my re-read of Prisoner of Azkaban, which I already started. I love it so much that it should be a short read :)

Shannon (countessmom) | 4087 comments Still working on Shadow Sight but I hate it, so I'm doing it in spurts.

Meanwhile, I finished The Recruit: Book One. Title works for an R -- characters that work: Hannah, Richard, Selena, Leanne, Tyler, Chen, & Isabelle

message 445: by Jaclyn (new)

Jaclyn If you'd rather not finish Shadow Night, we can use Isabel from The Recruit, and we'd have our I's covered for the 1st spell out. I wouldn't want you to force yourself to read something bad, when you can read something you enjoy instead...

message 446: by Shannon (new)

Shannon (countessmom) | 4087 comments Maybe move it to the 2nd read through? Good idea using Isabelle -- I started the 2nd book & she won't be in that one.

I'll finish it, I've already read 1/2 of it, and it won't take too long -- don't want to waste that hour I already spent ;)

message 447: by Jaclyn (new)

Jaclyn Okay, I made the changes :)

I have a book downloading on Tuesday that we can use for one of the O's. It's not a short book (500 pages), but it's one I've been waiting for and I know it will be good, so I should be able to read it in about 2 days. Unless we can find other O's. I still would like to stick to my initial plan of reading shorter books. So far I've managed 1/day :)

message 448: by Shannon (new)

Shannon (countessmom) | 4087 comments Finished The Recruit: Book Two

Title works for an R. Characters -- Hannah, Chen, Selena, Richard, Natalie
