I was a blubbering mess after finishing it.

This is on my TBR for this month! Now I think I'll start it sooner than planned so I can join in on this XD

I read This Savage Song right as Our Dark Duet came out. I went in with fairly low expectations because I'm not crazy about vampire stories (I know, I know), and some of the last few dystopians I had read were disappointing, but I absolutely LOVED it. I dove right into Our Dark Duet and was floored by the characters, the world, and the not so normal ending. It was such good writing.

I so want VE Schwab to write a story with the Hunters in Prosperity because I didn't get enough of those intriguing characters.

I hope everyone loves it as much as I did.

I wrote in my review that she should do a companion novel about Prosperity since we didn't get any closure for those characters. But if I'm remembering correctly, when she did the author chat with our group her writing schedule was totally booked up through 2019 =(

I love my August. He's one of my favorite male characters. Plus I picture Robert Sheehan when I read the books and that makes me happy lol

The This Savage Song duology is one of my favorites I have ever read! I love August with all my heart and want to protect him at all costs. I didn't like Our Dark Duet as much as I liked This Savage Song. I felt no closure with the characters from Prosperity and was disappointed that I didn't really get to know them; I felt disconnected from all of them, but that could be a reflection of Kate's disconnection from them. I was also heartbroken when I saw August change of demeanor into an almost cold monster, exactly what he did not want to be in the first book. I still enjoyed the book, and August is still one of my favorite characters I've ever read about because of his dynamic nature.

This series was one of the first duologies I've read and wow did it not disappoint. I felt like Our Dark Duet was a great sequel to the first and it was definitely darker. I enjoyed the dual POV and the symbolism with kate essentially fighting herself and her past.

I am nearly done with This Savage Song, really enjoying it. Love Kate & August. Have next one in my tbr pile.
