Susanna - Censored by GoodReads (susannag) | 2168 comments What book about the Tudors or Tudor England would you like to have as our Group Read in January 2018?

If it's in a series, can it be easily read as a stand-alone? If not, you might want to nominate the first book in the series, or the most recent book in it the group has not read together.

Can't remember what we've already read as a group? (Sometimes I can't, either.) There's a "group-reads" shelf on the group's Bookshelf.

Two nominations to a person, please.

Aled Davies | 11 comments Without question my first nomination The colours of our petals and secondly I nominate The Children of Henry VIII

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads (susannag) | 2168 comments We read Alison Weir's The Children of Henry VIII as a group in January 2015 (that thread remains open). So you still have a nomination, Aled.

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads (susannag) | 2168 comments I will nominate Thomas Cromwell: The Untold Story of Henry VIII's Most Faithful Servant by Tracy Borman, and The White Rose Murders by Paul Doherty.

I'll be closing nominations and opening the poll probably sometime later today, so if anyone has a last-minute suggestion to make, now is a good time to make it.

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads (susannag) | 2168 comments The nominations are closed, and the poll is open. You'll find it on the front page of the group, or here: https://www.goodreads.com/poll/show/1... .

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads (susannag) | 2168 comments The poll closes tonight at midnight; right now it would be Thomas Cromwell: The Untold Story of Henry VIII's Most Faithful Servant by a razor-thin margin (1 vote), over Amy Robsart: A Life and Its End and Watch the Lady and The Other Queen.

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads (susannag) | 2168 comments Update: Currently we would have a run-off vote between the Cromwell bio and Watch the Lady.

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads (susannag) | 2168 comments The victor, by one vote: Thomas Cromwell: The Untold Story of Henry VIII's Most Faithful Servant. (Incredibly close voting generally; there was a gap of 3 votes between the top six!)

We'll be discussing it here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/... .
