megan | 1492 comments Thought I was doing so well signing up on my iphone, but now that I’m signed up (had to find invisible log in box) it doesn’t change the three dots. Blah. Can’t get to a regular computer until this week. So, if anyone figures out how to go from there on an iPad, please let me know.

It looks like logging in using chrome and firefox works. Maybe you will be able to log in through one of those apps on your ipad

Huh. I wonder if that's the problem with the ipad/iphone. I'll look into it.

IE is fixed. Still working on iphone.

Kelly (ladykatala) | 5020 comments Sunshine wrote: "I was able to login and create a profile using my computer and chrome. The site still doesn’t work with my iPad, even in chrome."

Ok. So the issue with iphone/ipad's is that google is preventing the login. I'm seeing if I can work around it now. If you really need to use ipad/iphone I think you can login without using a google login and instead use the email/password option. However, you'll need to use this for both computer and phone if you do that.

Just shoot me a PM and let me know what e-mail you used (or which incorrect goodreads id and I'll update it.

message 327: by Kelly (new)

Kelly (ladykatala) | 5020 comments Still working on iphone/ipad login. Android phones appear to work.

However, I've unlocked the book tasks. You can see them even if you're not logged in by going to the rankings page and clicking view on a team.

Have fun planning for when it starts :)

message 328: by Sunshine (new)

Sunshine (sunshine22222) | 804 comments Hey Kelly,

I didn't see the book task when I clicked the "view team" eye. Should I be looking somewhere else?

message 329: by Abby (new)

Abby A couple of questions now that I'm looking at the site:

1. Do we submit books only after completion or when we've decided that's what we're reading?

2. How does Wooden Sword have more money than everyone else?

message 330: by Abby (new)

Abby I will be reading Smoke Gets in Your Eyes And Other Lessons from the Crematory by Caitlin Doughty . Would you consider a person working in a crematory to be an undertaker?

message 331: by Plethora (new)

Plethora (bookworm_r) | 2239 comments Abby - Team Wooden Sword is the NBRC mods team for testing. So ignore them.

What do you see? There should be a list of tasks on the left side, followed by rewards and any books submitted.

Submit books only after submission. You don't have to log books you have planned or are reading anywhere if you want to keep them secret from the other teams.

And as mentioned previously. Wooden Sword is just my play team until I get everything worked out. I'll remove it after we have all the features up and running and tested out. But regardless, it's not part of competition :)

We're letting the captains police each other as far as questions go in this game. So please have your captains take it to the captains group if there's questions on things. We're only answering large gameplay type questions.

Hi Jen - I just checked the sign-up form responses spreadsheet (which is the raw data submitted) and you aren't showing on there, so maybe your submission didn't work? You can try again and go on a reserves list just in case?

Oh, okay. I would swear that I submitted it, but I just submitted a sign-up again. Hope you got it this time!

Alison (Lady Coffin) S | 949 comments If a MOD gets on can you please PM me?
I was asked to help out my team to logbooks, but I am having issues getting all the way thru the process on the Cutthroat site.

I have been waiting 30 or more min for it to acknowledge the person and book link I put in the pop-up window.
Using Chrome on a PC laptop.

Thanks

Ok, after multiple tries and a few reloads, I got it to work.
So no need to PM me,
Thanks

I'll take a look at it tomorrow and see if I can work in some improvements :-/ If you ever hit technical issues just send me a PM. We'll work around the issue and you won't get hit with sabotages that wouldn't have otherwise hit you.

Thanks Kelly, I think a lot or most of it was on my end. But if I have future issues I will do that.

Hey guys,

After all this craziness has died down, I'm looking to do a true beta test of the website.

Goals would be:
- Sign up on the website
- Automatically get sorted into teams
- Full game on website (plus threads and logging on GoodReads)
- Bug fixes for things like the iphone and profile issues

So I'm looking for some feedback in the area of:
A) What type of game would be best for this? I'm thinking Bingo or Wheelathon but I'd like your input too.
B) What other features would you want on the website that haven't been mentioned?

I'll be looking for a small group (25-30) beta players in a few months to try the game out and report back on bugs/feedback/etc. You very well may lose progress or points or whatnot so it's really something to do to contribute to the game structure and not so much about winning. We'll be taking mainly experienced members but maybe a few new ones to see where the confusing parts are.

Anyhow, please let me know your thoughts!
-Kelly

This sounds really interesting to me. I would love to contribute to something while being in a 'competition' that's more about assessing the site and isn't so, well, cutthroat.

I like the thought of bingo, I'm not familiar with Wheelathon so I can't speak to that one. I've really enjoyed the challenge so far but I'm with Bethany, a little less cutthroat would be okay. I feel like it's such a hectic pace, almost like homework! I am really enjoying myself. Especially interacting with teammates. And it would be nice to learn how to maneuver around the website.

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) | 6399 comments If you need some one who loves playing but is pretty hopeless with the technology I'm your gal. So not a Chief (read Captain) but definitely an Indian.

Nikki the Sapphired Book Dragon AKA NixieNut (sapphireddragon) | 1397 comments I would be keen to help out and I think wheelathon might be fun on the sight. I have never played in a full on wheelathon but i was co-captain for the wobble version

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) | 6399 comments Wheelathon was great!
