Hello all! I know that this time of year can get super busy, so our December challenge is pretty easy. Read a magazine. If you don't have time to go to the library to check one out, try Flipster, our magazine app. Let us know what Magazine you read, and if there was an article you appreciated the most.

Happy holidays!

Are there any magazine readers out there?

message 3: by Debbie (new)

Debbie (dashforcover) | 1219 comments Not here. I might read an article in one on occasion, but never the whole thing. Except Vogue. I'll read Vogue, but only for the pictures.

message 4: by Donna (new)

Donna (donnanysyo) Not really, but I'll "read" People at lunch if I forget to bring my book with me to work.

message 5: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie | 55 comments I do have a couple of favorite magazines and this past year I got a subscription to the New Yorker, which I had great intentions of reading but didn't usually get very far.... Bust Magazine usually keeps me for a whole issue. They've got interesting content and have a great blend of interviews, pop culture assessment, DIY, music, and general topics. She Shreds is another fantastic magazine that libraries don't tend to subscribe to as it's super new and indie, but super phenomenal, as it focuses on rad women guitarists and bassists, where the most rock magazines like pretending women don't exist unless they're eye candy...

JoAnn (jladybug) | 144 comments I only read The Ensign, Crochet World and Crochet! Magazines.

message 7: by Lidja (new)

Lidja | 8 comments I got a subscription to The New Yorker this last year, too. There’s usually one or two articles that suck me in as I’m leafing through to find the cartoons (heheh). But I was surprised when I stumbled across half a page of short book reviews - now I look forward to that feature in each issue too.

I recently signed up for RoadRunner, which is a magazine devoted to motorcycle touring. I give it a thumbs-up. :)

message 8: by Justin (new)

Justin Harnish (justinaharnish) I read through the Atlantic religiously (I also subscribe to their podcast so sometimes I just need to scan it) and the article of the year is clearly Kurt Anderson's "How America Lost Its Mind" a snippet from his book "Fantasyland: How America Went Haywire." I also get Tricycle and Scientific American and the wonderful thing about these magazines is that they can litter my coffee tables and even if they do not get read in that month, they are great for a mindful or mind-bending read for all to share.

Yay! Some magazine readers popped in. I like to read cross stitch magazines on Flipster. And LibraryJournal. When I was little I loved getting National Geographic magazine, I'd always look through all the pictures.

message 10: by Lisa (new)

Lisa | 57 comments I read the zoo books or I did when I was a kids still do sometimes or the teen magzines or the people magazines

message 11: by Debbie (new)

Debbie (dashforcover) | 1219 comments I'm dismayed that no one seemed to get my joke about reading Vogue, but only for the pictures.

message 12: by Audrey (new)

Awesome Pamela!

If you read a magazine during December, make sure you put which one here, so that you can be entered for the prize drawing.

One year for my birthday, my sister got me a subscription to entertainment weekly. I used to cut out pics of celebrities i liked and made a collage for my room. Good times. Excellent present.

Excellent. I love how so many of you guys are reading magazines. Only a few more days to post what you've read.

message 24: by Steve (new)

Steve | 1 comments I like Make Magazine and my wife reads a quilting magazine. I should read the Ensign but often forget although I’m never disappointed when I remember to read it. I also like to read the BYU magazine.

message 25: by Becky (new)

Becky | 280 comments I read Time magazine, the looking toward 2018 issue with the actors from "A Wrinkle in Time" on the cover. I don't like magazines and rarely read them. I usually read my work related ones, only. I would only search out magazines online if I saw someone reference an interesting article.
