Having real problems with the laptop at the moment, Microsoft is force feeding their latest Creators Fall update into me PC. And since I have Win10 installed, I cannot stop it, the company removed that useful bit of power from the consumer, the bastards. I don't want it, didn't ask for it....but Microsoft thinks it can impose on it's consumers what they think 'we' should be using.....I don't even use any of the sodding creative programmes in my computer FFS! Anyway...this is the first time I've managed to log on all day, cos the darn update has just failed for the 4th time, so me laptop is stuck in a perpetually failing loop. There are expletives aplenty I would love to hurl at Bill Gates, for removing the power from the consumers over how they can choose how to set their updates on ones PC. At this rate, i'm thinking of dumping Win10 and getting a copy of Win7 instead.....F*****G Microsoft!

A brief respite from the naffing updates, this is the first time I've been 'allowed' to log on, since it started....and it's STILL not finished, there's more bloody updates coming....what the hell is the company doing for FFS?! SToooopppp it Bill...I don't want it, I'm not interesting in your artistic software, bog off! Arrrggggghhhh!

I'm utterly amazed MS are still doing that. Apple's update has always worked that it presents you with a list of what's available. You can update any you choose at a given point, or none if you're busy.

There was a time when users of Windows OS, could select what updates they wanted, even postpone them for a time. But ever since Win10 was introduced, Microsoft has decided to take a dictatorial stance....and have gradually been removing 'powers' from the users. I can no longer set my privacy settings to OFF, so the company now has the freedom to upload any data from my laptop as it sees fit (they say it so they can improve their software...yeah right!)...and as for Windows update....it's entirely automatic now...I cannot do anything to stop crap being uploaded to my computer. I can't even switch the damn thing off! Bladdy Microsoft!

Anyway..i'm back online (for now)...it seems Spacepig will be offline for a few days too, so I'll have to come up with something for the next round of Cream of....maybe extend nominations, until he's back online again, unless someone else is able to set up a playlist.

Hi Helen, I've had a listen to the album 'Screen Memories' and was left a bit disappointed. I really like the vocals and the music but found it a bit one dimensional. Helen, Galley Beggar have produced 4 albums and the last three (Galley Beggar, Silence & Tears and Heathen Hymns) are very good IMHO. I also have the first album, Reformation House, but haven't played it yet.

A good round all told, I think, Craig's comments notwithstanding...speaking of which....he's back to being Tech again! :)

Well...he didn't think much of this round, but...the ever name changing one certainly knows a good song when he hears one....storming in the lead with 30 points, the endorser of vegetarianism, defender of animal rights, anti-monarchist, ex Smiths frontman & purveyor of morose music, is back in fine form with his amusing song 'I Spent The Day In Bed'. Well done Morrissey & Craig/Tech Sergeant!

In second place, despite being temporarily bumped off by KJS during voting, a song I only came across a couple of days before nominating it, certainly appealed to many of you. Yours truly scores his first podium place with 'Taken By Ascent by Six Organs of Admittance', having scored a decent 22 points.

And finally, one of the kings of 1950's Rock & Roll, now sadly departed earlier this year at the grand age of 90, leaving the world with his swan song album, 28 years after his last one....Chuck Berry takes third place with 'Wonderful Woman', scored just one point fewer than my nom (thanks Derek!), with 21 points, nominated by SST.

And a wooden spoon goes to, to Sera for his nom The Tempest by Charit Way, hard luck Sera. In the song's defence, I do like the song, but the competition was strong in this round. Perhaps on another day would've done better.

Not sure how to proceed with the next round, as Spacepig will be away setting up in his new home...so for round 3, we'll have to do it a bit differently.
