Dazrin | 216 comments It looks like what I saw was a fan created trailer, I just saw "mercy thompson trailer" and quit reading.

Yah, she's in her 50s. BUt I won't say that loudly because she says she says

...has no intention of getting any older. Fiction authors don’t obey the laws of space and time, they invent them. Don’t argue, or she’ll make up a dragon right behind you . . .

I like my dragons on page, thank you. ;-)

HomeInMyShoes | 2759 comments I think fan-made movie should count. Provided it is long enough.

For author it only has to be when they wrote the book...

30 books by authors under 30

I read a book that was started when the author was 12 and published when she was 14. And I didn't even count it for the category? O_o

HomeInMyShoes | 2759 comments Patricia Briggs first book Masques was published when she was 28. Maybe she's trapped in that book.

message 207: by Christa, The Renewed (new)

Christa (christaw) | 1457 comments I'm pretty sure I'm misusing the term Micro-history, but I've decided that it's okay because Green is Good. :D

At 8 books in, I'm still at 100% hit rate, and it looks like I'll be holding with the 9th book, but I'm gonna run out of luck soon unless I start getting super creative in how I interpret the genres. :D

message 208: by HomeInMyShoes (new)

HomeInMyShoes | 2759 comments It is bound to happen, but you can get a lot of misses and still make it in 48 books. You only have to hit the mega board every time and two of the smaller boards with each book.

Christa (christaw) | 1457 comments Updated mine today, and I have 10 points! Yay! I'm finally not a zero! :D

Orlok | 555 comments Points!

You were never a zero ;D
And grats on the points!

message 212: by HomeInMyShoes (new)

HomeInMyShoes | 2759 comments Hurray!

I updated my books since I hadn't done that for a bit.

message 213: by Dazrin (new)

Dazrin | 216 comments My magic number is down to 11, 4 of which need to hit letters I, N, U, and V. (And preferably with J, K, and Y as well so I can hit first word instead of just a word.)

I hate planning ahead this much on books but I really want to clear the boards in only 48 books. Fortunately I still have 5 changes I can make so I should be able to do it if I can keep myself focused and maybe read one or two books I wouldn't normally read.

message 214: by Orlok (new)

Orlok | 555 comments I agree with the dislike of planning ahead, but I've just been doing it for a cover with food, an author under 30, and an author with my first name. Still, it's taken me places I wouldn't otherwise have gone.

message 215: by HomeInMyShoes (last edited May 18, 2018 07:04AM) (new)

HomeInMyShoes | 2759 comments 48 would be very impressive. I finished in 51 books. All three of the extras were books I read with my son so not bad.

I managed the alphabet on first words. Thankfully not all editions of Q & A have been retitled to Slumdog Millionaire. :P That was a great find for QXZ. Totally unfair to the book as it is quite different from the movie.

There were only three books in my list that I probably wouldn't have read:

The Young Elites (dystopian, floats, antihero)
The Prophecy of the Stones (curse or prophecy)
The Guitar and Amp Sourcebook (hobby, > 500 pages)

The guitar one I would have browsed through, but never read the whole thing.

MrsJoseph *grouchy* (mrsjoseph) | 3289 comments I have so many books, lol. And I still need to finish or DNF two more in order to be complete. Damn it.

I have no interest in either of these books right now...but I'm thinking of getting the audio for one of them just to force the issue. Damn it.

message 217: by Dazrin (new)

Dazrin | 216 comments Bingo!

Now I can move onto the books I have been wanting to read for the last couple weeks. :)

message 218: by Orlok (new)

Orlok | 555 comments Well done! I'll get there eventually - books I want to read keep getting in the way...

message 219: by Dazrin (new)

Dazrin | 216 comments If I hadn't been so close to completing in exactly 48 books I would have just skipped these last couple and moved on for a while. As-is, I ended up choosing something much shorter than my original options but that I didn't expect to like as much (still enjoyed but ...)

message 220: by HomeInMyShoes (new)

HomeInMyShoes | 2759 comments Way to go.
