MJ Codename: ♕Duchess♕ (heyitsthemj) According to Goodreads, I am (as of right now) 164 books away from hitting 1,000 books. Now, this number isn't completely accurate because there are a lot of books from my childhood that I haven't bothered to add on here. However, I currently have 12 books sitting on my currently reading shelf (not counting Harry Potter for the 1,000 time) that I want to finish before this year is out. So, I'm hoping to hit or surpass, 152 148 133 next year. Prepare for a lot of tears.

Hey Heather, tears? Of joy you mean? I see you have read 149 books this year and still going strong. So 152 is certainly doable for you! I wish you all the luck and above all happy reading!

MJ Codename: ♕Duchess♕ (heyitsthemj) Next year will be interesting. This year I was unemployed for 8 months so I got a lot of reading done. I listen to audiobooks at work anyway which is why I know ill finish the 12 I have on my list right now.
It’s actually sitting down and reading a dead tree book that’s the struggle.

Ah I see. I actually struggle more with audiobooks, can't seem to concentrate....

MJ Codename: ♕Duchess♕ (heyitsthemj) It took a month or so before I really got into audiobooks. I finally went back and started listening to some of my favorite books so I could relive parts and that really helped. Now, I listen to them everywhere. At home, at work, in the car, cleaning, in the shower, etc.

MJ Codename: ♕Duchess♕ (heyitsthemj) Had to update this because I mathed wrong and I only need to read 148 books to reach 1,000 read books.

To read 1000 books is my aim also.Good luck to you for your aim.

Blagica | 12941 comments I wish you the best in the coming year I will definitely be back to see how well you do. I know it will be great.

MJ Codename: ♕Duchess♕ (heyitsthemj) Thank you! The number is actually getting less and less since the books I’ve been picking lately aren’t all that long on audio. I’m kind of hoping I can hit 170 before the end of this year.

Blagica | 12941 comments Heather you are doing great so far this year! I see you are a Stephen king fan do you have a favorite of this books?

MJ Codename: ♕Duchess♕ (heyitsthemj) I like King but I haven't read a lot of his books. He's on my "authors to complete this year" list. I'm enjoying what I've read of the Dark Tower series (need to get back into it).
From what I've read this year so far, I really liked The Breathing Method.
I read The Shining last year and was really surprised at how much I liked it. I love the Kubrick film so I wasn't sure if I was going to like the book.
Now, I'm waiting on IT.

Same here. I don't think I will be able to get to it this year otherwise we could do a buddy read.

From what I've read this year so far, I really liked The Breathing Method.

OMG, there's actually a King book I didn't yet know about!!! Added to my TBR.

...

Ooh, loved that one too!

MJ Codename: ♕Duchess♕ (heyitsthemj) The Breathing Method is one of the short stories in Different Seasons. It's AMAZING. I would punch a baby for more stories from that world (lol). It also has The Body, which became Stand By Me. I wasn't too crazy about it but it's also not one of my favorite movies either. Apt Pupil and Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption are in it, too.

I'm finishing TDT this year. I'm going to finish them out on audio so I can listen to them at work.

Blagica | 12941 comments Two months down ten to go. I hope you are enjoying your book adventures so far this year you are doing great!

MJ Codename: ♕Duchess♕ (heyitsthemj) 30 books down, 103(ish) to go.

Blagica | 12941 comments A book is a dream that you hold in your hand. I hope that April brings you many more five star reads. Do you have a stand out book so far this year?

MJ Codename: ♕Duchess♕ (heyitsthemj) The Snowman and Phantom by Jo Nesbo were incredible.
A Court of Thorns and Roses trilogy is hands down one of the best young adult stories I've read since Harry Potter. As much as I love all three books, A Court of Mist and Fury was my favorite of the three.
I was extremely surprised by how much I enjoyed Ink and Bone. I bought the other two books but haven't gotten to them yet.
Iron Gold was pure gold.
The Lovely Bones is an instant favorite. I definitely want to read that one again.
Sunburn was also really good. I'm going to check out more of the authors works. I don't know if I would read this one again but it's definitely on my favorites shelf.

MJ Codename: ♕Duchess♕ (heyitsthemj) Finished #44 of 133.

MJ Codename: ♕Duchess♕ (heyitsthemj) Only 48 books so far this year, which is pretty low. I should have gotten through more by this point.

You're on track though to reach your goal of 133 aren't you?
Which has been your favourite so far?

MJ Codename: ♕Duchess♕ (heyitsthemj) I’m hoping so, depends on how many I can get through in the next month.

And I have to say I was extremely surprised by both Sleeping Giants and Waking Gods. I’m impatiently waiting for the third book.

Have both of them on my TBR!

MJ Codename: ♕Duchess♕ (heyitsthemj) OMFG THEY'RE AMAZING. I love them so much.

Blagica | 12941 comments April Showers bring May flowers I hope May brings lots of great reads and sunshine!

MJ Codename: ♕Duchess♕ (heyitsthemj) Finished #52, currently working on #53 and #54.

MJ Codename: ♕Duchess♕ (heyitsthemj) 60 books down, 73 to go. May or may not hit it but since I'm no longer following my reading challenges (they were too restrictive) I might have a better chance

MJ Codename: ♕Duchess♕ (heyitsthemj) Finally hit #67 of the year. Only 66 more to go until I hit my 133 goal. Probably won't make it though, but we'll see.

I feel like I'm a lot further behind than I should be at this point. I'm also trying really hard not to let reading take over my life again and putting off the things I have to get finished.

MJ Codename: ♕Duchess♕ (heyitsthemj) Updated to book 82.

O boy, I know just what you mean. My goal for next year will be me picking up everything I've not been doing because of reading... Don't know how well that will go though...

MJ Codename: ♕Duchess♕ (heyitsthemj) lol, right. I'm failing at everything which is amusing because with the job I have, I really have no excuses to be behind on anything.
