I hope to start with Ali and Nino! Thanks Diane!

1. Colombia: The Shape of the Ruins by Juan Gabriel Vasquez which started off amazingly and ran out of steam after the first section. I’m still going to try and read One Hundred Years of Solitude. It’s been on my TBR list for far too long now to ignore it.
2. South Africa: July’s People by Nadine Gordimer. Excellent premise, just didn’t enjoy Gordimer’s writing style.
Currently reading: Ali and Nino by Kurban Said.
Laos The Latehomecomer: A Hmong Family Memoir by Kao Kalia Yang
Azerbaijan Ali and Nino: A Love Story by Kurban Said
Trinidad and Tobago Prospero's Daughter by Elizabeth Nunez
Bangladesh Lajja by Taslima Nasrin
Colombia One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel García Márquez
Ghana Ghana Must Go by Taiye Selasi
China The Leavers by Lisa Ko
South Africa July's People by Nadine Gordimer OR Down Second Avenue by Es’kia Mphahlele
Zambia Patchwork by Ellen Banda-Aaku OR A Cowrie of Hope by Binwell Sinyangwe
Liberia Guanya Pau by Joseph Jeffrey Walters OR The House at Sugar Beach by Helene Cooper
