Eliza Loveless (elizaloveless) | 29 comments Yesterday evening a scene popped in my head. I pictured two women who are best friends. One of the women has just been broken up by a her boyfriend, effectively ending their semi-serious relationship. The other woman is usually single with a few bouts of short lived relationships with men peppered throughout her life.

They are both closeted, and neither one of them have really accepted that fact.

The women are hanging out at one of their houses, drinking wine, having a nice night in to make the recently dumped woman feel better. Eventually a confession gets made, romantic feelings are revealed. The woman who is just dumped is reluctant to start something up with her friend, because she doesn't want to ruin her friendship or complicate things. But they eventually have sex and find a level of comfort and acceptance with each other.

This story in my mind.... has a very... emotionally messy feel to it, but poignant at the same time.

I don't read slice of life stories, so I have a few questions. Namely, would the over all plot of this story fit in well with slice of life fiction, or would it have to be developed some more? If you do enjoy these types of reads, does this plot appeal to you?

Slice of life generally has little or no plot. This feels more like romance or erotica.

If you feel strongly about the story, write it. Worry about the genre / niche later when you're getting ready to publish.

Eliza Loveless (elizaloveless) | 29 comments I was seeing this as a slice of life erotica, since there is no plot outside of the inner turmoil of these two women.
