This discussion board is to talk about the writing process and what has worked for you. What process do you find useful to you as a writer and how did it help you complete your first book?

Natasha B (littlewritingsforyou) I usually start with a character list and a small outline of the plots.

From there I begin. Sometimes I'll skip around while writing, wanting to take an idea while it's still fresh and write it down. I don't spend too much time on an outline.

I'll use an outline for the basic description of the character, their age, birthdays etc..

When I'm done, I've learned that taking a VERY long time between finishing the last sentence to actually editing helps a lot with finding mistakes. You have to make yourself believe you're reading someone ele's words. Go at it with fresh eyes. I think allowing at least a month's break between finishing and editing is what works the best for me.

While writings I tend to listen to music, definitely the type of music changes depending on the type of mood i'm trying to set in the book.
