She had an interesting idea originally, but by the end of the second book, she didn't know what to do with it. So she forced a path that would lead to the ending she wanted.
You can tell - or at least I can - because the book reads like an entirely different series. Add that on top of the fact that the plot of the third book was erratic and basically made no sense, and because of that, Tris' death was essentially pointless, and you've got a train wreck. A train wreck that was an obvious attempt to finish the series and make money.
While I was waiting for the last book to come out, I imagined about five other scenarios that could have worked. All of them were more realistic and coherent than the route the book actually took.
Honestly, Tris' death was obvious to me the minute I saw that there were multiple POVs. There's really only one reason for an author to do that in the third book of the series when the previous two were told from one character's POV - because the character who was telling the story up to that point, doesn't make it to the end of the book.
So maybe that's why it wasn't as sad or shocking to me when she died. I really didn't even mind that much that she did. I minded the way that she died. It was pointless and, therefore, stupid.
So no, I don't think there's a possibility for another book. I think Roth wanted to end it, and I really doubt she'd ever bring it back.
Not that it would be worth reading if she did....
However, there always is fan fiction. You could write one. Or see if someone else has.
