I also want to read The Eye in the Door The Eye in the Door (Regeneration, #2) by Pat Barker - book 2 in a great WWI series by Pat Barker. So many options for this prompt!

City of Bones too but I feel like I need more of Cassandra’s series first before reading this one.

message 8: by Tamula (new)

Tamula | 65 comments I'm going to read Tender at the Bone: Growing Up at the Table by Ruth Reichl. It's a memoir about food and cooking.

message 10: by Lizzy (new)

Lizzy | 908 comments I have several good choices on my TBR list, but think I’ll probably go with I Feel Bad About My Neck. I’ve never read anything by Nora Ephron, but she is supposed to be quite wickedly funny in this one.

message 11: by Jody (new)

Jody (jodybell) | 3477 comments Ooh, I need more funny books in my life. Adding that to my options, thanks Lizzy!

I loved it.... I seem to be in the minority though. Will be interesting to hear your thoughts.

Gośka A | 26 comments The Handmaid's Tale of course! :)

message 19: by Emma (new)

Emma (emmamaloco) | 11 comments I actually just posted this question in another thread, but I'm wondering if The One by John Marrs would count for this topic? It does have a fingerprint literally IN the title..

message 20: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (thismommareads) I just finished City of Bones for this topic. (I'm not going in week order apparently.)

message 21: by Christine (new)

Christine (inhalesbookslikepopcorn) | 1 comments I'll going to read Down Among the Sticks and Bones

Charity (faeryrebel78) | 552 comments I read Heartless by Marissa Meyer.

message 23: by Brianna (new)

Brianna (bebecburt) | 546 comments I picked up Ink and Bone by Rachel Caine for this one! I have quite a few books that could've worked, but I've been wanting to read this for so long I'm going with it!

message 24: by Kim (new)

Kim (kmyers) | 539 comments Working at an academic library, you never know what is going to jump off the shelf and say "read me". Never Suck A Dead Man's Hand: And Other Life (and Death) Lessons from the Front Lines of Forensics was one of those. I read it on my occasional lunch hour, when I would multitask by reading while getting my steps in walking through the serial stacks. I didn't make very good progress, though, so I finally brought it home for the long weekend and finished it off. I'd give it 2.5/5.00 - the title is pretty catchy, though, don't you think?

message 25: by Anastasia (new)

Anastasia (anastasiaharris) | 1730 comments While there are a number of books on my list that could fit this prompt I have wanted to read this one for awhile.
Stiff: The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers

MN (mnfife) I'll read David Mitchell's The Bone Clocks for this prompt. I've wanted to read this for ages.

message 28: by MJ (new)

MJ | 954 comments I am reading Dragon Teeth. A quick read, and one that's based on a true story. I totally got sucked in by the book's cover!

message 29: by Wendorej (new)

Wendorej | 55 comments What are you reading for this category?
Les Cadavres n'ont pas froid aux yeux - Andrea H. Japp

Literal translation: Corpses don't have cold eyes
[to not have cold eyes = French expression for "being fearless"]
"Proper" translation: Corpses have no fear

message 30: by dalex (new)

dalex (912dalex) | 2646 comments I will be reading Behind Her Eyes by Sarah Pinborough because how can you resist a book that people are exclaiming "WTFthatending" about all over the interwebs?

message 31: by Kimberley (new)

Kimberley Stoeger brzozowski | 42 comments There are so many books out there with body parts in the title! I think I have settled on The Bone Collector

message 32: by Jody (new)

Jody (jodybell) | 3477 comments Apologies in advance ... 🤣

I'm reading Assholes: A Theory by Aaron James. I was hoping to read something non-fiction that was on my shelf and, well ... there it was.

message 33: by Katie (new)

Katie | 2360 comments Bahahahahaha

message 34: by Melitta (new)

Melitta Jackson (themidnightlibrarian) | 50 comments The Haunted Vagina by Carlton Mellick III

The Haunted Vagina by Carlton Mellick III

Some bizzaro-fiction I decided to try....And was left not really knowing how to feel about it.

message 35: by Elise (new)

Elise (theblackhorizon) I read Faces in the Crowd by Valeria Luiselli. The narrative switches between an author's family life and the novel that she's writing. It is both well written and well translated. Very glad my friend picked this for our book club.

message 36: by Sophie (new)

Sophie (sawphie) | 2826 comments I'm read with The Whispering Skull.

message 37: by Mom2triplets04 (new)

Mom2triplets04 | 118 comments I went with the word BLOOD

I read Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

message 38: by Heather (new)

Heather (redbayheather) I read The Blood of an Englishman (Agatha Raisin, #25) by M.C. Beaton

This is my first time reading M.C. Beaton and her Agatha Raisin series. It was a quick read and quite enjoyable. I found the character of Agatha Raisin pretty flat & her habit of continually thinking of men as marriage material was a little tiresome. I won't be in a hurry to read any other of the series.

message 40: by Shelley (new)

Shelley | 425 comments I read Blood Rites from the Dresden Files. this series, which I already enjoyed, went to a new level with this book.

message 41: by Ashley (new)

Ashley (ashleym99) I will read City of Bones

message 42: by Jody (new)

Jody (jodybell) | 3477 comments My other book is far from a page-turner (it's far from narrative non-fiction), so I've swapped to A Farewell to Arms by Ernest Hemingway, as I'm scared of getting behind on our challenge.

The readathon was a blessing and a curse - so much fun, but so burnt out!

message 43: by Kelly (new)

Kelly Brown | 371 comments What are you reading for this category?
Half a Heart by Karen McQuestion

This was one where I read it first and thankfully it fit a category. Plus I didn't have anything picked out for this prompt yet- bonus!

I've had a great reading day today, granted they've all been very short, but who cares. Just added The Gigantic Beard That Was Evil to my read list. A weird and fun graphic novel. I can't remember how I came across this, but the title caught my attention and I'm glad I got around to reading it.

message 45: by Ira (new)

Ira | 361 comments I am reading The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter. I bought it because I was intrigued by the title. I also gave a copy to my uncle and he loved it, so that is a good sign.

message 46: by Ann (new)

Ann S | 624 comments I read and thoroughly loved and recommend The Hearts of Horses. Book club is reading it now and I have heard nothing bad so far. For my book club, this is a miracle. Historical fiction, Oregon territory, very interesting and fulfilling.

message 47: by Marie (new)

Marie | 1063 comments I read Heart-Shaped Box by Joe Hill. Definitely recommend it if you like horror, and it would work for the ghost story prompt too.

message 48: by Kathy (new)
