While books set in the South sounds straight forward, what exactly is considered "the South"? Believe it or not, "the South" isn't Southern United States. According to Wikipedia, the South "is commonly defined as including the states that fought for the Confederate States of America in the American Civil War." So for this category we're looking for books set in those states. Based on the map from the US Census Bureau, that includes Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgian, Florida, Tennessee, Kentucky, South and North Carolina, West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, and Delaware.
