Support for Indie Authors discussion

I was recently contacted by AllAuthor (allauthor.com) about submitting my latest cover to their "Cover of the Month Contest." I'm not terribly flattered, as they likely just harvested my name from the Amazon new releases list.

However, they seem to be a legitimate book promotion site with both free and paid services. Anyone know these guys?

I signed up for them a while back, but aside from having a profile, I haven't done any promotions through them. From time to time they do send me little gif images of my covers done up for the season, which is cute with some, but can be a bit silly with my 3d box set covers. They'll also occasionally tweet my page of my books, which is nice of them, since I'm not actively paying them to do so, but I can't tell you definitively that it's led to a spike in interest. The cover contest is something I see a lot of authors join, so I say if nothing else, it can't hurt.

I like AllAuthor. I'm not sure how much visibility they get, but you can promote the cover contest for your book on social media. Even with the free account, they send a monthly little advertisement of your books that you can post to your Facebook page.

I missed the deadline for the cover contest for my latest book and was bummed. I thought I had to wait until Nov. 1 to get into the November contest. Nope. So I went for the December contest. But my book was published Sept. 20 and they only accept books published in the previous two months. Declined again. I'll definitely use it for my next book.
