Confused as to why Emily was upset with Meredith for printing Claire's story??

Mrsbooks Can anyone explain this to me?

I found it confusing because I don't see how anything negative came out of it. You would have thought that Emily would have been thrilled that Tony's true nature had been exposed and by Claire herself. If that book was never released Tony would have gotten away with everything he had done to Claire.

Why was Emily upset?

Ck702 I think it was because Nichol would eventually find out about the book and learn what Tony did.

Mrsbooks I get that. But without Meredith's book, Tony wouldn't have gone to prison and he would have maintained custody of his daughter. Would Emily have preferred that?

Ck702 That is true. It seems like Emily was just bitter all around. I really enjoyed the series but Convicted was too long and was saying the same stuff over and over, and then bam the last 50 pages or so everything is explained.
Now I'm thinking, didn't the book say the judge ruled for an order of protection for Claire and Nichol? How was it magically lifted the day he got out of jail?

Yup, I think so as well.

In an attempt to be fair, no one can really blame Emily for being bitter. Tony had her husband sent to jail which was terrible. I agree that the book was too long and the resolution too quick and confusing. Suddenly Tony is going back to the house, there is a reconciliation with Courtney, Claire is at the house and shoots off the gun. Too much going on at the end.
