One of those beautiful inscrutable mysteries you...☺️ like softly falling snow. I'm really yearning for a white Christmas...which I will not get this year...but...there was this one time in Germany when I was still a student...and duh! got lost in this quaint Xmas night market...this kindly old lady invited my bewildered + almost frozen feet into her kitchen for a cup of hot choc. She didn't speak much English + my German at the time didn't go much beyond Guten Tag and Auf Weidersehen...so we mostly just nodded and smiled. I dunno why she ever...most ppl woulda been creeped out by my (seemingly) suspicious lurking tho' actually I was jezzt going in circles...😂😂😂
My German hasn't improved too much beyond that...heh! But I've never forgotten her shiny brass kettle (the very old-fashioned kind), her hands worn rough with work and love + she had these twinkly eyes + wore this faded apron...it was blue and white checks...

One marvels at the pictures the mind chooses to store, no? And the moments which they choose to pop back up into the cognitive forefront...
Returning to the germane (haha *bad pun alert*), her back door opened directly onto a little lane leading to the town square... I'm very lucky, Ann. Born under some sort of happy star, I guess. I always mess up but end up meeting thoroughly wonderful ppl.

We've had quite a bit of snow, but just rain and ice now. :( not looking like it's going to be a white Christmas.
