Stacey Sebert | 17 comments I just finished Selected Shorts: Baseball. It’s a bunch of short stories and poems about baseball. Most of them are based on true events. The first was about Ted Williams. As a baseball fan, I found these stories very interesting and at times, funny. It makes me even more excited for baseball season to start!

Melissa Slater (mslater04) | 7 comments I read A Cowrie of Hope by Binwell Sinyangwe. It's a Zambian novel about a widow who is trying to secure money to pay the school fees so her daughter can continue her education.

Patricia | 3 comments I just finished The Ninth Hour by Alice McDermott. It's the chosen book for the RCS library reading group that will meet at Noon on April 18th. I had not read anything by this author before but found the story, which takes place in a predominantly Irish Brooklyn neighborhood during the early twentieth century, fairly captivating. At 247 pages some might not include it in this category but it was a very quick read. The relationships felt real and the role of Catholic nuns in the community is of the storied past. This book could also be used for the "A book about mental health" category.

Stacey Sebert | 17 comments I just read the short story Deal of a Lifetime by Fredrick Backman. What a great story about life and death and the choices one makes.
