2018 January Pick It For Me Challenge

I hadn't read anything on your special shelf, so I hope I picked some good ones.
1. It's a great time to try something new!: Truly, Madly by Heather Webber is a cute romance/mystery with kooky characters and a touch of supernatural as the heroine can find missing items. Or check out Forged in Fire by Trish McCallan were some SEALS on vacation find their travel plans messed up as a woman claims she dreamed their plane would by hijacked and destroyed.

2. It's also a great time to start something new that could lead to more new somethings: When the Right One Comes Along by Kate James. Or see what it would be like to be a magical innkeeper who deals with any "weird" issues in a small Texas town in Clean Sweep by Ilona Andrews.

3. Why not try a brand new release in the new year?: Girl in the Spotlight by Virginia McCullough. Or figure out if Ivy is lazy or gifted in Slouch Witch by Helen Harper.

4. I bet those recently added titles are what you are looking forward to most in the new year: These both needed to be from your TBR, either Under Pressure by Lori Foster or The Man Who Had Everything by Christine Rimmer.

5. January is the first month of the year: Graceling by Kristine Cashore or see what happens when a good girl goes to Vegas, gets drunk and ends up married to a rock star in Lick by Kylie Scott

6. You may have stayed up late on New Year's Eve and just want a shorter story or book to start off the year: The Bad Boy of Butterfly Harbor by Anna J. Stewart. Or Lumberjack in Love by Penny Watson where city-slicker Ami learns that a slower life can be good when dealing with a lumberjack who is building a treehouse for her sister's kid.

7. The new year is filled with promise and hope: First Love Again by Kristina Knight is a second chance romance which are usually feel-good. Or check out Nina who is re-thinking her engagement while on vacation in the States, but ends up sick and being cared for by alpha Max in The Gamble by Kristen Ashley.

8. There seem to be a lot of college football bowl games on t.v. on New Year's Day: I'm stretching this a bit, but the hero does coach his nephew's baseball team in Bet Me by Jennifer Crusie which is one of my all-time favorites. Or check out a college hockey player making The Deal with Hannah to stay eligible to play. The MCs are so great in this story by Elle Kennedy.

I'm going to get a start on your picks this evening, but my brain seems to already be shutting down for the night so probably won't get them posted until sometime tomorrow.

New: Hate to Want You - Alisha Rai - one of my favorites this year

2. It's also a great time to start something new that could lead to more new somethings
TBR: Every Heart a Doorway - Seanan McGuire - I like this author, but I haven't read this series yet
New: Silent in the Grave - Deanna Raybourn - This is a fun historical mystery/romance series!

3. Why not try a brand new release in the new year?
TBR: Mack Daddy - Penelope Ward - newest book on the list
New: Cherish Hard - Nalini Singh - I saw that you've read other books by her, and this is her newest contemporary, set in New Zealand

4. I bet those recently added titles are what you are looking forward to most in the new year
TBR: The Anatomist's Wife - Anna Lee Huber - I just chose two recent books that looked interesting to me!
TBR: Ember Island - Kimberley Freeman

5. January is the first month of the year
TBR:Broken - Cynthia Eden - I also have this book on my TBR

TBR: The Navy SEAL's E-Mail Order Bride - Cora Seton - I chose this for the title!
New: Snowspelled - Stephanie Burgis - Cute fantasy romance novella

7. The new year is filled with promise and hope
TBR: Clean Sweep - Ilona Andrews - One of my favorite authors - silly premise but very enjoyable
New: Any Way You Slice It - Kristine Carlson Asselin - throwing in a YA sports girl-power romance, because why not?

8. There seem to be a lot of college football bowl games on t.v. on New Year's Day
TBR: The Hook Up - Kristen Callihan
New: Playing by Her Rules - Amy Andrews - I saw you'd read other rugby romances, so figured you might want to try this one

We had a LOT of books in common and it was fun to be able to recommend you some of my faves that were on your TBR list. So i cheated the 'new' category in that a lot of the ones I recommended you were already on your list. Hope you like them!
1. It's a great time to try something new!-
TBR: Wicked Intentions - Looks like Elizabeth Hoyt is farely new to you. I've read lots of her work, but this series is one of my favorites of hers. I'm on the last two novellas and adore pretty much the whole series!
NEW: The Perils of Pleasure - Julie Ann Long looks to be a brand new writer for you. I finished the Pennyroyal Green series this past year and LOVED it! Perils is a great start and I adore Long's writing style. Hope you like it too!

2. It's also a great time to start something new that could lead to more new somethings-
TBR: - Again the Magic I see you've read the rest of this series, but let me just say, this one starts it off and I mean, it REALLY starts it off!!
TBR: Romancing the Duke - OMG.....this one.... oh the feels... excellent start to this series, though I think this one is still the best

3. Why not try a brand new release in the new year?
TBR: The Duchess Deal - Looks like Tessa Dare is farely new to you and I adore her work. This one... awesome read IMO! Released in September.
NEW: Pride and Prejudice and Mistletoe - I'm going to fnish this one over the Christmas holiday so I'll let you know how it goes!

4. I bet those recently added titles are what you are looking forward to most in the new year-
TBR: Fool Moon
TBR: The Luckiest Lady in London - Awesome read, I just read it in November and could not put it down!

5. January is the first month of the year
TBR: Artemis - Sounds interesting!
TBR/NEW: Firelight - This series was not what you'd expect. Loved it!

6. You may have stayed up late on New Year's Eve and just want a shorter story or book to start off the year
TBR: Yours to Keep - relatively short and sounds interesting!
TBR: The Governess Affair - I LOOOOVE the Brothers Sinister Series and most all of Courtney Milan's work! Brothers Sinister starts with The Duchess War, which is one of my faves of the series, but this is the prequel. Up to you if you want to read Duchess War first or this one, but I had to get this series on your TBR list somewhere!

7. The new year is filled with promise and hope
NEW: The One In My Heart- Oh goodness... this one shocked me!
NEW: Loving a Lost Lord - Defintely a HEA, a very sweet story!

Wow Rebecca! Awesome picks! I have 9 of them in my shelf and can't wait to get started! I actually have read one of them, Mine Till Midnight. I've read the whole series actually - LOVE Lisa Kleypas! Not your fault as i don't have it on my read shelf. Read that series a few years ago, before joining Goodreads. If you want to pick another you can, but I've got plenty to keep me busy... probably into March! Lol
Thank you again so much!
