I loved, loved the Temerair series. I listened to them all!
The same narrator also narrated the 20 books in the Aubrey/Maturin Series. Novik also loved the series. The first one is Master and Commander

I saw that when I looked up the narrator on overdrive to make sure he does the whole series. Temeraire has a certain voice now- cant mess with it. My library has the whole series except for Crucible of Gold. Why library, why?
Based solely on the title I'm hoping Throne of Jade will be set in China but I'm 5th in the hold line.

Book 8/24
Aires
Stone: Opal (1750-1850)
What Angels Fear

It's set at the dawn of the regency period in England, 1811.

Yes my library will buy books I ask them to. I don't know if I can ask for audio books though... They have it on paper anyways so I'll just have to read it the old fashioned way :)

Book 9/24
Capricorn
Symbol: Goat
Out Stealing Horses

Set in Norway and written by a Norwegian"
What you think of this one?

Either I wasn't in the right mood for it or it just wasn't for me because I lost interest about half way through.

Book 10/24
Aries
Superhero: Ares (God in the title)
When Gods Die

*note to self: Can also be used for June month*

Book 13/24
Gemini
Actor: Johnny Depp
A Cat, a Hat, and a Piece of String

Johnny Depp was in

Badge 3
Book 1/24
Virgo
Month: August
Scarlet

I just wanted to continue this series because it's so fun and I didn't think it would fit anywhere but it's set entirely in August, so yay. Though it's doubtful I'll get far into badge 3.

I really enjoyed the series and followed it to the end. I hope you have fun on the way.

Book 18/24
Capricorn
Superhero: Cannonball
Black Powder War

We're in the thick of the Napoleonic wars now

I like Simon Vance too. He reads Tigana, A Secret Kept and the series starting with The Anatomist's Apprentice. And I'm much more likely to listen to them knowing that he's the narrator. I will probably try the Master and commander series too one day but after I finish Temeraire.

Book 20
Cancer
Superhero: Sandman (Horror)
Harvest Home

Over 400 people have tagged this "Horror" and it's the top genre on the main book page. I'm counting it for this task even if it's the weakest, most tedious, more about growing corn really, "horror" that ever existed.

Badge 3
Book 2/24
Gemini
Symbol: Twins
4.50 from Paddington

also known as What Mrs. McGillicuddy Saw!

Book 21/24
Libra
Actor: Viggo Mortensen
I read:
The Seville Communion

How it fits:
Viggo Mortensen played Captain Alatriste in the film Alatriste based in the series by Arturo Pérez-Reverte

Badge 3
Book 3/24
Capricorn
Stone: Quartz (time travel)
After the Fall, Before the Fall, During the Fall

The people in After the Fall travel back to Before the Fall. It had a lot of common elements thrown in but it was still pretty good. Cheap Kindle deal book.

Badge 3
Book 5
Aires:
North American: Falcon (Set in Syria, Iraq or Turkey)
A Land of Permanent Goodbyes

The story starts in Syria then they travel to Turkey and onward as refugees.

Book 22
Sagittarius
Superhero: Hawkeye (new in 2018)
The Chalk Man

first published Jan 2018"
We did a buddy read on this book. You should check out the conversation. Feel free to add comments.

I was just reading it. You guys picked up on some things early that I didn't. I'm reading it because I'm still not clear on some things like (view spoiler) ["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

Book 23
Aquarius
Symbol: Water Bearer
A Beautiful Blue Death

Bottles on the cover could carry water.

Did you like Charles Lenox?"
I did! The narrator was delightful (British). And I can really sympathize with wanting to stay inside and drink tea when its cold outside.
The mystery was alright, I picked up 1 clue that gave me the correct hunch on who did it but not the why of it.
I'll be reading the next one for the Dec movie challenge.
