HA's 2018 Public Domain Challenge
Thanks Charlene. I think it will be Rachel. I end up reading and listening to a lot public domain stories. The first one I’m going to listen to this year is Wilkie Collin’s Woman in White.

Ohh, where do you find the audio for that? YouTube?

Yeah I’d say you can find it on there. I usually listen listen to LibraVox recordings. I find them on iTunes.

Oh yeah, I can understand and see that happening.

Silly question! But then again if I don't know the answer then it's not a silly question, haha.

Last year I did 22, but many were short.
started The Woman in White today.
EDIT 1/13/18 well, I'm done. I didn't actually finish it and gave it 2 stars. it just kept going & going & going. I couldn't take it anymore. I doubt i'll read anything else by Mr. Collins unless it's a SHORT story.

Thanks for that rec, Latasha! Just read it and loved it. Am now 1/12.

Thanks for the suggestion, Latasha - owned and added. Hopefully I will get to it soon!

I already knew my history education was terrible, but I didn't think I'd need to go to Wikipedia from the first chapter.
Jason, I deleted your comment. It had nothing to do with this thread and it was self promoting. You can promote your blog here:

Sounds good :)
I read Faust: First Part in January And it's what you would call public domain here in Germany (our term for that isn't quite the same and the law is somewhat different, but it's for free and that's the main point I think).
But I own an actual copy of it so it didn't feel like a public domain read ^^
I just started The Boats of the 'Glen Carrig' and it's really good so far.
Do you know this site: http://www.gutenberg.org
(I guess/hope this leads you to the english Version. It looks a bit messy but there are tons of eBooks in different formats.
Also I discovered the App serial reader which is perfect for in between. :)

Oh I didn't know that. Thanks for mentioning.
Yes, it is. Really enjoying it. Ships and ghosts and lurking monsters ❤️

I finished this today. most of these you've heard or some variation of them. but it was fun to revisit the stories. I love fairy tales!

How this works: anything goes as long as it’s in the public domain. Short stories, audio, anything! You set a goal of how many titles you want to read during the year then come here and discuss and/or share your review. I think this is going to be a lot of fun and we’ll uncover some hidden gems along the way!
Any genre is eligible for this challenge, it doesn't have to be horror only!
