The first of the New Year celebrations is almost upon us! What book most resembles your hope or aspirations for next year?

Silvana (silvaubrey) | 2793 comments Well. Maybe The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy because of the 'Don't Panic' warning, wacky adventures, insanely awesome spaceship, hilarious robots, and so on. Not so much on the old flame and bureaucratic aliens though.

Hmm. Okay scrap it...I'd go with Lord of the Rings just because I plan to backpack in NZ which has been a dream since I watched the first movie.

Hope: Oathbringer I want it to feel long, full of adventure, family, and surprising victories.

Ambitions: The Goblin Emperor: Learn all the things! Rise to the occasion! Surround myself in positive, intelligent people! Don't get assassinated!

Anna (vegfic) | 10430 comments I'd like to be like Sophie in Howl's Moving Castle, going from feeling old, afraid and resigned to being badass and in charge.

Realistically I'm expecting: Everything Sucks

I'm hoping to upgrade it to: Everything Sucks, But I'm Still Happy
