I had a feeling he was already suspicious and I don't think Cookie could really sell the date without seeming off-character to Ubie!

I agree, I think Cookie felt like she was somehow betraying Ubie. Her dates were hilarious, though! :D

Oooh, this was where things started getting tense! Ubie! I hurt for Charley that he was angry with her. But the bar scene was funny as hell

Ubie needed a kick in the pants. Possibly not the total craziness Charley caused but a kick nonetheless. I actually thought Ubie was mad at Charley. He is a far better actor than Charley and Cookie any day of the week.
