Joey (Eppic) Epperson (eppic) | 49 comments Well hey there everyone, long time no see... I am still alive, somehow LOL. Getting back into reading again, so feel free to drop me a line, a suggestion on something to read, and all that good stuff. Hope to get back into it good this year. Just read "Ready player one" a book called "Cry like a man" and a Teddy Roosevelt book about hunting (actually its about why he started fighting for public lands and parks, but how hunting and fishing got him there.

Alicja (140177766-alicja) 1) How do you track your reading?
Goodreads tracks all of the books I have read, I also have a challenge in which I input the information and hopefully I will also add it to my challenge page on here as well soon.

2) What types of stats do you track?
I track the number of books I have read, although I do like the fact Goodreads also tells you how many pages you have read as well.

3) How do you retain what you read? Or, do you read for the moment and not worry about remembering what you read?
I don't worry about remembering what I have read, but if I ever pick up a book I have read before within a few pages I remember what was in it therefore it is hard for me to re-read books in the future. Despite this I still chose to buy them rather then borrow from a library as I like owning the books I have read.

4) What other bookish goals do you have?
I have a goal of reading that one polish book that I have brought for myself this year and to complete the whole The Plantagenet Novels collection by Philippa Gregory as I only have 4 books left from that collection and I own all four, after this my goal will be to move along to Tudors and finish that half of the collection as well.

Hi Zahraa!

Welcome to the group, we are so happy to have you! We noticed that you posted about buddy reading in the Let's Chat discussion thread. I know that you have already found the Buddy Read Sign-Up Thread but wanted to make sure others coming to this discussion know where it is located as well. Thanks for keeping your discussion posts on topic in the future and we hope you enjoy the group as a reader!

Ági (milkywayconqueror) | 228 comments Hello, everybody! Does Goodreads sometimes ask you to sign in again? It has been the case for me since this new look. Maybe, it's a bug? It has happened to me recently when I clicked on my account settings.

Yes its happened to me occasonally. I think if they update the site they log everyone out maybe.

AurorainBookland | 402 comments Goodreads thinking you updated a book when you haven't. So on the app on my phone on want to read shelf it organizes by last updated, today its claiming I updated a book today and I didn't. Confused.

Somehow, a couple books on my Read shelf show that I've read them twice, when in fact I have only read once! Slightly annoying!

Yeah. And when addimg a book to a shelf you made goodreads will sometimes mark it as read so you have to delete the book then re add it. This site needs some work.

Anshika | 53 comments 1)How do you track your reading?
By Goodreads and a paper clip (I pin the clip, see how many pages I left behind and giggles)
2) What type of stats do you track?
Number of pages and books.
3) How do you retain what you read?
I tell my sister to read the book and then we gossip about it.
4) What other bookish goals do you have?
To read 1000+ books before I die.

Lisa Grønsund | 6163 comments John wrote: "Anyone have any recommendations?"

In what genre?
From your To-read shelf, I'd definitely recommend "The Family Game" or "What Lies in the Woods"

message 495: by tyra ♡ (new)

tyra ♡ (tyra_reads) | 31 comments 1) How do you track your reading?
Mainly through the GR tracker, but also in my personal tracker here and also through a paper tracker I have in the back of my personal planner. I like to have it in a few different places because I find that it helps me stay even more motivated!

2) What types of stats do you track?
At the moment I'm only tracking the number of books I've read, but I think starting with my March 2023 books, I want to start tracking number of pages also.

3) How do you retain what you read? Or, do you read for the moment and not worry about remembering what you read?
Definitely the latter. I used to worry about retaining what I was reading, but I found that this was kind of stressing me out and taking away from my enjoyment of the books/reading in general so now I'm 100% in it just for the moment.

4) What other bookish goals do you have?
I'm hoping to expand the number of genres I've read, and explore beyond just my usual (psychological thrillers, suspense, mystery, etc.) and maybe try out some memoirs and nonfiction books. I also want to read more this year than I did last year, and also incorporate reading into my daily routine rather than just doing it as a hobby whenever I have time for it. I want to be more intentional with the books that I read this year!

Alekhya Suma (alekhya_suma) | 83 comments Hi all, I have a friend visiting India from the USA. I want him to get me a book (or an edition) that is only available there. He isn't much of a reader and I don't have enough time to research on such a short notice.

Any recommendations are most welcome!

RJ - Slayer of Trolls (hawk5391yahoocom) Sad news: Cormac McCarthy passed away earlier this week. I consider him one of my favorite authors even though I have read only three of his books. Blood Meridian, or, the Evening Redness in the West and The Road are two of my all-time favorites.
