Happy weekend from me, too 🤗

I'll mostly be studying for an exam that I have next week, but I'll make sure to have some time to read my book as well :)

Tired of being tired.
I finally have a book that looks interesting called "Meat Eater" its a hunting book, so maybe I can get through it and start a trend of reading again instead of lying around feeling sorry for myself.
I am also going to start writing, that wont explode in my face or anything!

How many are on the POSUGAR challenge?

Hahahaha, that was hilarious! I love it!
Thanks for sharing that, Kristin.

Here ya go: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Leynw...

Strangely enough, my daughter's high school basketball team was listening to "All I Want for Christmas" by Mariah Carey before this morning's scrimmage, along with another Christmas song by Justin Beiber. It's pretty funny since most of the time all they listen to is hip-hop. Her coach and I agreed that it really is too soon for Christmas music. But then again it's better than being subjected to Drake.

Thank you
Christina

Take a minute and tell us how things are going.

hope everyone had, is having or is going to have a fantastic entry into 2020.
Remember to be safe!

As of today, I noticed on my home page that the buttons to "update" my reading progress on the books I'm currently reading have disappeared. Has the interface changed? Did they move it? Is it disabled? Is it just me?
If anyone has any insights, please let me know.
Thank you so much!

According to Goodreads, the currently reading section on the homepage is undergoing some brief maintenance. It should be solved soon.
They also said: "In the meantime, if you need to update the progress of a book you are currently reading, you can do this from the book page. Once there, just click on the update status link in the Progress row of your My Activity section"

2) What types of stats do you track? Same as before. I save my place and keep going, be it paper/e-book or audio. (Yes. I've lost my place a few times. Oh, well...)
3) How do you retain what you read? The books I've enjoyed I always remember. The ones I did not like, I do my best to forget.
4) What other bookish goals do you have? Just to keep reading every chance I get and to write as often as possible.

Since I was very small, I have always written down the titles in a small journal. It's not always been effective as an adult who is time-poor! Last year, I started using Goodreads a bit more regularly. This year I aim to use it efficiently!
2) What types of stats do you track?
Length of time it took to read- I notice typeface differences and nerdily workout pages per hour for different prints as a way to determine what book in my TBR pile will fit with what I have going on in the moment.
Nationality/Race/Gender - I try to use these to engage in a more diverse range of voices and perspectives. Haven't always been successful in this but I'm working on it!
Non-fiction VS Fiction - I keep a mental track of books read in each category. I think it's useful to try and balance the two genres for well rounded reading.
3) How do you retain what you read?
It depends on the book really! I tend to retain enough of a synopsis/feeling to give recommendations. The only system I have is:
If it's non-fiction or manifestos I make a point to discuss what I'm reading with my husband/friends/family.
If it's fiction, I'm more likely to discuss it with a close group of nerd friends but on a very basic level. Discussions for fiction will only happen if it's gripping.
4) What other bookish goals do you have?
Aside from reading more, this year it's to increase the books read by Japanese authors (particularly female authors) and to read non-fiction titles on data/social media/digital media ethics. I also want to connect with more bookish people/partake in group discussions a bit more! :)

But how are you guys? just curious. I'm good. its just a chilly day here in Tennessee.

@Aubrey
I was going to post some links which I posted when i initially suggested the All the World's a Stage Challenge, then realized that you've already completed that challenge. Gratz on finishing!
My apologies for not replying sooner; I don't usually visit this thread. To get suggestions for a particular challenge, I would post in that challenge's thread. If I'm not happy with my choice of a book for a particular prompt, I sometimes enjoy checking out the book lists of the other participants, too.
