Jacqueline | 407 comments I think the idea is to read 50/52 books. One for each category. I say 52 because the or in "favourite prompt from 2015, 2016 or 2017" can be changed to and giving you 52. One for each week.

In saying that it is your challenge and if you want to double, triple or quadruple dip that's your decision. Some people are doing it that way.

Tara Bates | 1008 comments The goal is to expand your reading horizons. If you’re someone who normally reads 10-12 books per year and you want to up that then definitely double up! If you normally read 40-45 then maybe not. If your main goal is to read more diversely then that should be your focus rather than quantity. It’s a personal challenge and you’ll find a lot of different approaches.
Some double up, some don’t, some count audiobooks, some count rereads, some only count books over 200 pages, some try to read all of one type or genre (non American authors or graphic novels or whatever)
You do you :)

John | 79 comments this actually makes me feel better about last years challenge. I was using 2+ prompts for each book as I was not a heavy reader as I once was, then I saw somebody commented that you should not use more than one for this year's (so I picked out 50 books). Last years I started in July (once I actually found out about it) and through shear ability (of being a stay at home dad now) I was able to finish 35 books and using more than one prompt all but like 5 of the prompts.

Angie | 76 comments It’s too much work for me, but I think it would be a neat challenge to see how few books you could read and still complete the challenge. Like if one book satisfied 5 categories, another book crossed of 3, e.g. I know that’s not the point of the challenge, but if I could read enough in a year to do the challenge twice, I would try. 50/52 books per year is about all I can handle though.

Miss Fluffykins | 20 comments Based on what I managed in my 2017 reading challenge (40 books, just), I am doing multi categories so that completion is achievable. For example, I've read the Underground Railroad, which met 2 prompts. I think I have around 45 individual books

My daughter, who's not doing the challenge, had fun looking through the lists (I forget if it was 2016 or 2017) and tried to find a book that met as many challenges as possible.
