I really liked the prologue. It is so interesting to read different pov of that same night.

Ok, I finished last night! I didn’t like it as much as Words of Radiance but I still quite enjoyed it! It was definitely Dalinar’s book

Dalinar- quite enjoyed the insight into his past, what happened with his first wife, and how it all tied into Odium, the thrill etc. and made for quite the ending

Aedolin- didn’t have a major role in this book for me, glad the cat is out of the bag about the murder etc though

Shallan- not my favorite in this book, the whole Veil thing I found distracting. I liked her best in WoR

Kaladin- we need more. That is all (hide spoiler)]

I'm in. I couldn't read this last year because exams cut in, and I don't remember anything at this point. May start late.

Agree with you. While I love Sanderson and everything he does, I liked WOR better and this book was def lacking in Kaladin. For me Shallan was as annoying as ever (I'm not a Shallan fan). Though I did give her some props (view spoiler)[ for choosing Adolin. I hate love triangles and I'm glad she knew what she wanted. Now her other personalities.... well they can just suck it. I also wish Jasnah got more screen time, esp considering she's on the freaking cover! (hide spoiler)]

That being said I haven't started my reread and probably won't until next week. TOR is also starting a Oathbringer reread and I want to try to slightly follow along with them as well. It still counts for the challenge as long as we start it as a group and discuss together right? There's no set finish date?

Diana and Marina I have to disagree with you here. This is my favorite stormlight book yet! (view spoiler)[ I love how we get to see other characters besides Kalidin develop! I was kind of getting worried that Kalidin was going to turn into a superman character that would always swoop in and save the day. It was nice to see him fill a different role. We are quite relaxed about these things, as many of us are library dependent, and therefore often have to start things early or late as holds are a fickle temptress. In short- yes it will count!

I kind of want to reread this...but can't right now. Maybe later this year.

I have a long break at work today, but this book is way too heavy (I have the hardcover) to carry around so I will be starting tonight.

I realized I completely forgot what happened at the end of WoR...

Don't worry about it, I started, realized I needed to read a WoR summary and restarted so I'm only about 20 pages in.

Prologue:

(view spoiler)[I still like Adolin with Shallan. They are very cute together. Pattern's "No mating" made me laugh out loud.

Syl and Kaladin's talk about what happens in the bedroom was another moment that made me laugh out loud.

Kaladin's meeting his family again was such an emotional moment!

Even if they are hard to read at times, Dalinar's flashbacks are so interesting. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[when Adolin brought dinner to Shallan's bedroom and Pattern's had his no mating moment, there was a conversation in which Adolin asked if Shallan had the shardplate already or if she new how to get one. Right away she started having painful recollections of killing her mother. I am pretty sure that happened because she had to tell Pattern this truth to reach the next level and get her plate.

She told Adolin she didn't have or know anything about the plate, but the tone of the conversation implied she actually knew about it and had it.

Besides reading the obvious WoK, and WoR. which books side books should I read before Oathbringer. I have heard there are books I need to read before Oathbringer and I have Oahtbringer here at my house burning a hole in my bookshelves.

Warbreaker. Main characters in Warbreaker make an appearance in Oathbringer. While it's not required reading it helps enhance the process. And Edgedancer. That helps set up Oathbringer for a couple characters.

Thanks Diana, once I'm done with Iron Gold by Pierce Brown, I'm starting on Edgedancer, Warbreaker, then finally OATHBRINGER! lol and staying awake for 24 hours straight to knock out both book then read Oathbringer. Get my coffee ready, RedBull, caffeine pills, 3 spoons of sugar made out in lines for straight shot to the nose. lol jk about that one. I'll knock out after about 5 hours lol.

It'll be totally worth it :-) I love Warbreaker. Lightsong is one of my favorite Sanderson charaacters.

I went to a signing last winter, a year ago. Oathbringer was still only half way done being written. At the end of the talk, before the autographs, Sanderson read an excerpt from the book. He read the Kaladin homecoming chapter. I think I cried. I'm listening to that chapter now and it still gives me all the feels.

Next time they say she's dead I'm not believing them lol I don't want to say the name because I know how you ladies like to look at spoilers even when your not near the part yet lo. plus i'm sure you can figure out whom i'm talking about... He reads something at every signing. I've already met him 3 times and am going to see him again at JordanCon in April. If anyone has questions they want me to ask hit me up!

12 chapters down. I have to say, enjoying Oathbringer more than I did the first 2 books through the beginning. We shall see if it continues.
