You just have to move on and keep trying.

It really doesn't matter to me if you don't have a blog. Interesting that that would be a deal breaker for some bloggers.

What's the url of your blog, KP? I want to check it out! Mine is www.margaretlangstaff.com

I don't really blog, as I hate talking about myself. my site keeps track of the occasional update when the computer gremlins aren't breaking the machines again. -_-
But if anyone wants free(!) books to read and review, I'm always willing to toss doorstoppers at anyone's way. I have sci-fi, fantasy, and psychological rotting over here... take your pick.

I think that "reviewer overload" for book bloggers is all too common today. The sheer volume, quantity, of self-published books inundating book bloggers is staggering. It's now a grim fact of the book marketing landscape. What used to be, even two years ago, a great way to get some notice of one's new book, get a discussion going, has nearly vanished under the glut of just soooooo many books.

a.) Even though I don't get a ton of review requests, I get enough that I'm set for some months. So I assume high-profile book bloggers are INUNDATED.
b.) No one wants their feelings hurt over an honest review. As one person put it somewhere on Goodreads, indie authors have developed "speshul snowflake" syndrome. I got blogged about angrily over my review. Sorry! I think that sets indie authors back a few decades. (And I'm Indie!) And it scares bloggers away!!!!
c.) Even bloggers are allowed to be picky...how do you tell someone who didn't read all your review policy that they didn't read all your review policy? And without hurting their feelings? I like romance. Period. Any good story, but with romance. And editing. If it hurts to read, I'll stop reading. I reserve that right.
Not that any of these are you, 'cause I don't know you, it simply sets the TONE for the possible no-reply issues you (and I) are having. I've decided against the blogger-review route for now for my own book. But I do offer reviews which post to Amazon and Goodreads and those are good to have.
And cue the unhappiness.

I'm not a blogger myself, but I like to review indie books. I mostly read indies. (I'm booked. :P) Yet, even if a book is in the genre I read, there are times that I have the feeling I won't like it. I don't know if it's a sixth sense or what, but I do. Now, how do you tell these authors you don't want to read their book?
On Goodreads, in some threads, a woman offered to review indies. Because she mentioned she'd prefer not reading m/m or f/f books, she got walked all over, called names etc.
Good thing most people won't react that way, but it's the 1 out of the 100 who scares people into finding it easier not to reply. :/

as i said before im happy to read any work anyone wants to send my way - i love to have a pile of things to read and if anything anyone wanting me to review their work would be doing me a favour.

Just a side note - I found some book bloggers in THIS GROUP on goodreads who said they love reviewing books etc. I contacted them last week, and haven't heard from them either. Maybe I smell bad?

Hi, Caitlyn,
My name is Ellie and I'm currently seeking for reviews for my new book "The New York Doll". This is a story of a young girl of Russian-Jewish heritage Mila, who came to New York in search of true love and the American Dream. But after struggling to survive and keep a roof above her head, she turns to an option that she never even considered before: she becomes an exotic dancer. On her way she meets a lot of people, both good and bad, and she depicts every single one of them with incredible honesty. She falls in love with the owner of the club, the powerful Italian-American mobster R., and now they both have to fight for their bright future together.
This is the story of love and hatred, of friendship and betrayal, and everything else that takes place behind the closed doors of a gentleman's club.
If you are interested in the full book, please e-mail me at [email protected] and I'll send you a full copy of the book.
Thank you!

You can email me at [email protected]

I am also willing to do author interviews as well. Forms for this and Reviews are on my site. I am starting to want to do reviews and Guest Posts (blogs) for Bloggers. I would love to start hosting giveaways. I would love to get more followers.

Lindsay, I see that your link isn't working??
