I have a few books that will work for the Musca slot, but knowing my speed of reading I don't want to claim the slot now if someone else can get to it sooner! (I am off work today, tomorrow & monday though so hoping to get through a book or two at least).

Finished 2/16/18
Cards:
1- Setting: New Orleans
2- Character: Temperance
3- Third book in the series
6- Title
7- Character V

I am starting They Both Die at the End from team Musca today, so we are covered on that one.

Finished 2/16/18"
Any connections we can make to the Mini Challenge for this book?
Also don't forget to add it to your uno shelf too! :)

awsome!

➡️ Andromeda's January (lingerie)

➡️ Andromeda's January (lingerie)"
great! :)

I was looking over all of your "read" book lists to see if there were more books I would want to read for current and future reverse cards, and I found a few.
Then I looked at my "read" list, and realized that it is over two thousand books long. So, I made a new category called "books my team might like", and filled that list with books that many of you may enjoy. There are even some with the Uno colored covers as an added bonus.
So, use the list, or don't, but if you are looking for something wonderful that you haven't encountered yet, there are some really good ones there.

Way to mix pop culture and science! So wish I was going with you.

Yes that connection works!

As Laura said, yes it works :) The reasons just need to be plausible

I really liked it, but I was spoiled a long time ago, so it didn't hit me as much as everyone say. Although I enjoyed the funny parts quite a lot it was a 3.5stars reading for me.

Thanks for looking for more matches. Unfortunately sharing a series number &/or authors with the same initials were deemed not plausible enough. (I was sure so asked in the captains' group) Sorry.

OK,thanks for checking. That makes no sense to me with this example from the mini-challenge:
"For example: Someone on Team A has read A Man Called Ove. The cover has a man and a cat on the cover. Someone from Team B can then read a book with either of those two things on the cover (or both), like for example Storm Front, which also has a single man on the cover."
It really doesn't seem different to me. A man on the cover and a man on the cover. A man and woman on the cover, a man and woman on the cover.

Shortbread and Sorrow
Part 2 Connections:
set in a Scottish castle, Ceres & Carina both mentioned Outlander, also set, at least partially, in a Scottish castle. Is in general, set in Scotland OK?

Oh, I read that wrong. Sorry."
Hmm my previous reply to this seems to have vanished. I was using my phone so probably didn't help.
No worries, I wasn't probably as clear as I could have been. I am still trying to wrap my head around what works and doesn't for the mini challenge. It seems with matching pictures to pictures on covers we are pretty safe. When it comes to matching words it is more challenging. While matching a full title to another full title is fine, and matching an author to themselves, same first names and/or same surnames is also fine. Matching part of a title or part of a word is apparently where they draw the line. Then there is possibly something like matching settings need to be the same area, so we couldn't match Las Vegas with New York by saying they are both in the USA...but that gets into my foggy territory lol

Wait, their example of Ove being set in Sweden and another book being set in Sweden is an example. Maybe it is because the U.S. is so large?

Hmm, someone asked that, let me go back and check (in the Captain's group). This seems to be getting very nitpicky...

...states being the same would be a reasonable connection. Simply because the States as a whole are huge compared to other countries. Just as you could use England or Wales as a connection but not the United Kingdom (as it is a global term for the whole island, encompassing several countries). "
We are good with just plain set in England. Yay!

The Fifth Season, by N.K. Jemisin

Started reading Feb. 9, finished Feb. 17

switched it to Team Mercury and put my Looking for Alaska in instead since I couldn't find a book with smoke on the cover and didn't want to use the lame "same book" reason ;)

Dima, there are 2 books on your uno shelf that we never got any information about. can you please let us know what cards the books fit?

Since I started it on the 5th I don't believe I can use it for part 2 of the mini challenge. If that is incorrect though and I misunderstood I'll see if I can connect it.
