P? Is that right?

Tahmina (tpopal) Next Stop is:

Bilbao (ES): Bilbao (/bɪlˈbaʊ, -ˈbɑːoʊ/;[3] Spanish: [bilˈβao]; Basque: Bilbo [bilβo]) is a city in northern Spain, the largest city in the province of Biscay and in the Basque Country as a whole.

Detour for the Stop: Read a book shelved (listed on the first page of the "top shelves" of the book) as ebook - plurals and minor spelling variations are acceptable

I am not sure what the Detour description means. It makes no sense to me. Anyway, should we do a spell out or author from the country or detour?

See the link below.
The "Top Shelf" of this page has a tag has "ebook"

message 122: by Franziska (new)

Franziska (chaoschild) | 207 comments Well, we did two spell outs... I am not sure what you guys think, but maybe we could go with spanish authors?

Tahmina (tpopal) Franziska wrote: "Well, we did two spell outs... I am not sure what you guys think, but maybe we could go with spanish authors?"

I agree!

message 124: by Sunshine (new)

Sunshine (sunshine22222) | 804 comments I think that we can do either:
An author or book set in Spain.

message 125: by Loralie (new)

Loralie | 22 comments I don't think I own a book neither set in Spain nor by a Spanish author. :(

message 126: by Nicole (new)

Nicole P | 1834 comments I don't have a book by a Spanish author or set in Spain :( But if needs be I'm sure I can hunt one down.

The Rain in Spain by Amy Jo Cousins
How it fits: Takes place in Spain

message 129: by Franziska (new)

Franziska (chaoschild) | 207 comments I can recommend everything of Carlos Ruiz Zafon. It takes place in Barcelona and I love his books. The most popular is Shadow of the winds, which is really really good.

message 130: by Franziska (new)

Franziska (chaoschild) | 207 comments Guys, just one organizational question.. how do you know which our next stop is ? Just wondering since some of you write it as soon as we finish our last task :D

and another question, should we report our points to the NBRC travel agent? It says so in the official rules.

message 131: by Tahmina (new)

Tahmina (tpopal) If you go to the first comment or second there’s a link to our itinerary.

Sunshine (sunshine22222) | 804 comments I have completing a tracking sheet on tab 2 of the spreadsheet

The first page of the spreadsheet can be used to track points.

message 138: by Loralie (new)

Loralie | 22 comments Is there a rule or detour for people who don't have a book that fits the challenge? Because I don't have one and I already bought a sh....load of books this month. Therefore I'm kind of on a budget right now. :(

message 139: by Tahmina (new)

Tahmina (tpopal) I think we have to decide to take the detour as a group. So we are supposed to pick one option and go from there.

message 140: by Loralie (new)

Loralie | 22 comments That's a bummer. I guess I have to go through all of my books, one by one, and check if there is one that fits the bill. This will take a while. I will let you guys know as soon as I'm done.

message 141: by Monica (new)

Monica | 53 comments @Tahmina - I haven't read that book since high school. I hope I enjoy it now more than I did then! :P

That looks really interesting. Hadn't heard of him, but see that he was a larger than life figure in the Spanish Civil War. Thanks for the link.

Nicole P | 1834 comments I'm going to see what I have and if I have nothing I'll look on Listopia.

message 148: by Nicole (new)

Nicole P | 1834 comments Never mind. I'm going to read By the River Piedra I Sat Down and Wept. I just found it while looking for my copy of the The Alchemist. Totally forgot I had it.
