I'm All About reading books from Project Gutenberg!! I'll be reading the next Sherlock Holmes book from there for "mentioned in another book" (doesn't matter which - the protagonist in The Thirteenth Tale reads all of them, so they all work for that category).

"Hound of the Baskervilles" has an animal in the title.

There are quite a few you could use for "anti-hero" - notably, Wuthering Heights.

"Woman in White" has alliteration.
