Not sure if 'Soothing' qualifies for 2017, as it was released in 2016. I only know this because I nominated it in the Cream of 2016 round. The album it comes from was released in 2017 though.

Hi, well I checked it out...and Nick is right..officially it's a 2016 album, but the physical releases were 2017, so it's in both camps. I've no idea what the ruling is on this..do we go by the official digital release, or by the physical ones?

Personally, I've no preference in this...so I guess we could allow it again..i can't remember this one from last year anyway!

From what I can find, 'Soothing' may have been released as lead-off track for the album in late 2016, but the album itself only appeared in March 2017. I haven't paid any attention to the singles chart for about twenty years now (not since almost every no. 1 started going straight in at the top, rendering what had been a vanishingly rare feat meaningless), so for me it's a track from last year. I'll keep it if no one objects.

You and me both! I looked on discogs..which granted isn't always correct, but lists the album as 2016, Wikipedia lists it as being released March 10th 2017. I'm okay with it..so I'll leave to others to comment. Soothing was the single from that album, and was released as you say, very late in the year.

Moonspell went mad with the bombast and orchestrations on the excellent 1755, a concept album based on the Lisbon earthquake of 1755. As good a piece of gothic metal as you could hope for... In Portuguese.

Turn Around, Face The Sun by Electric Eye wins round 8, having scored 18 points.....so I get my first gold medal...yippee! Thanks folks! I thoroughly recommend checking out the album...it's not 'alf bad.

Not far behind, on 16 points...is another good track imo, You're So Cool by Johnathan Bree, so....now adding a silver to his two golds...it's Nick! Well done...again...I enjoyed that track.

And finally....we have a tie..between my top two favourite tracks;-

It was very close....KJS's The Limiñanas scored 2 max points to Rob's Radiator King's 1...so KJS gets the bronze!
