This is considered a published cover. It doesn't matter is copies were sold, it was available.
Goodreads policy is to keep all published covers on the site, as users want to shelve the cover of the copy they have.
Instead, we add an alternate-cover edition.
See http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/1...
and http://www.goodreads.com/help/show/85....
Alternate-cover edition added here:

As the author, you have the ability to change which edition of the book is the default, which will come up in searches by title and show on your author profile.
Here are the instructions: How to set the default edition.

EDIT: Ah thanks, I can see from your post that I need to create a new paperback addition and add the new cover to *that* instead. Thanks.

Thanks for responding so quickly to the original request.

Thanks again; if you have a policy to close threads that are concluded, then I have no issue with you doing so at this point.

It's for The Scissors and the Sword
The cover on GoodReads is actually the placeholder cover that the book only had for about a week after first being made available on Amazon. For some time now the cover has used THIS design:

As far as I am aware, no copies were sold with the original cover.
From what I've read of the rules I believe GoodReads policy is to add this new cover, and allow me to specify it as the default - is that correct?
