Team 2 - Perfect Match

You decide which of the four categories you want to find a 'date' in. Roll a die. Read a book for the number you rolled. If you can't or don't want to read for that quality, a teammate can volunteer to read it for you. You cannot roll for a new 'date' until your book has been finished. You can read another team member's unwanted 'date' while waiting for your book to be finished.
The team with the most 'dates' read wins.
Rules:
Books must be 150 pages.
Poetry and graphic novels are not allowed.
Proof of the 'date's' quality must be provided by citing from the text of the book, i.e.; "'Where'd you get the scars?' he asked gently." p. 69 Shakespeare's Landlord

I'm Lith and I live in Hull - UK, If I am not reading then I am usually found painting or drawing. I get all of my reading done at weird hours of the night because sleep is something my brain doesn't seem to understand these days! I mostly like to read horror, but I have been reading more fantasy lately.
We need a team name, I don't have any ideas just yet, but once we know each other I am sure we will come up with something!
Edit: Just to make sure, does everyone understand the rules?

My name is Dragana and I live in Kragujevac - Serbia. I love to read and every free second I have I use to read. As for favorite genres I read a bit from everything (except poetry, biographies and non-fiction) but my favorite genre is speculative fiction.
I really like the idea for this challenge. We will see how it will go in real life. I haven't played it before.
As for team name, I don't have an idea at the moment.

Sorry that made better sense in my head.

Captains, feel free to send a message to any of your team members who haven't checked in. I haven't been getting notifications from Goodreads. Maybe your teammate hasn't seen that teams have been posted.
You can start reading tomorrow!
You can start reading tomorrow!

I was excited and intrigued to see we live in a variety of countries. It impresses me that non-Americans take multi-lingual lifestyles in stride when my NY and TN classmates (when I was in) school did whatever they could to avoid languages (including English). I'd love to hear some insights about the book you read and how things might differ in your current hometown.
I read very quickly and I'm willing to fill in any gaps as needed.

Sorry that made better sense in my head."
Shan ~ A ~ --what you said made perfect sense to me, but I'm not sure how this works, either.
Does "most dates" mean total number of books read or total number of books with the largest variety of traits?

Perhaps we can (1) reduce the amount of time we spend waiting on a team member and (2) reduce the stress she'll feel to finish a book knowing someone is waiting on her.
How do y'all feel about each of us selecting the Category that has the fewest items you would be reluctant to read? Then telling us which Category that is. That should decrease the likelihood of people being disappointed with the trait they got based on their roll.

I was thinking we could each select and comment a category, then edit the post with our dice roll. When the book is finished we could edit again to include proof and date finished too. how does that sound? I think it might be cheating if we roll first, then pick a category.

Nikk, would you rather we keep one post each up to date with what we have read and when, or would you rather we make separate posts for each? Just wondering what works best for you.
It would probably be more simple if we all used the same format, something like:
Category:
Die roll:
Book:
Proof:
Date Completed:
I hope that makes some sort of sense!

Most dates means the total number of books read. You only need one trait per book and you don't have to restrict yourself to one category. I think it was asked in this thread somewhere.

Me too. :)
Other might be harder to find but I am sure I can find something that fits.

Die roll: 2 - a teenager
Book: Gathering Darkness

I am good with doing a selection post each week with the category chosen then updated with roll , book and then finish date as needed.
My usual method for updating at least with other spreadsheets is to start at the last post on the thread and work backwards so as to make sure I don't miss anything.

It doesn't matter if you roll the same as a teammate as far as I know, since we aren't trying to complete every single possibility!
Edit: We are just trying to read as much as we can :)
I don't think we settled on a name, I really liked Team Perfect Match, so unless anyone has any issue with that, we can go with that one? I totally forgot about naming ourselves!
