I am sending an PM to the members since it took me so long to notice I had to CREATE our team folder.

Important Details

♥ The game will begin on January 24. at 12:01 a.m. (MST)
♥ The game will conclude February 14 at 12:59 p.m. (MST)
♥ If your profile is set to private, you will need to open it for the duration of the game. You may need to be contacted by your captain or a moderator.

How to Play:
♥ Each team member will need to go on 'dates'.
♥ Books need to be reported on your team's thread.
♥ Do not start reading your 'date' before the challenge begins.
♥ Post a link to the book, finish date, and which category you choose, and what number you rolled. Don't forget to include proof of the quality from the text of the book.

Qualified Books:

♥ Anthologies probably won't work for this challenge.

Here are the Dates so we can see them easily:

Here's how it works:
* You decide which of the four categories (Age, Vocation, Location, Physical Attributes) you want to find a 'date' in.
* Roll a die. Read a book for the number you rolled.

If you can't or don't want to read for that quality, a teammate can volunteer to read it for you. You cannot roll for a new 'date' until your book has been finished. You can read another team member's unwanted 'date' while waiting for your book to be finished.


The team with the most 'dates' read wins.

Books must be 150 pages.
Poetry and graphic novels are not allowed.
Proof of the 'date's' quality must be provided by citing from the text of the book, i.e.; "'Where'd you get the scars?' he asked gently." p. 69 Shakespeare's Landlord

The main character must:
1 - have blonde hair
2 - be very tall
3 - have a tattoo
4 - be able to change shape
5 - have scars
6 - have brown eyes

Hey Beth! Jessica checking in. I like both of those names! I think either one would work. I'm having a hard time coming up with anything :)

I picked Location and got a 5 so I need to find a book with someone traveling.

I chose Location and got and rolled a 3, live in the USA. Should be easy enough. Off to pick.

My first date is Physical Attributes. I rolled a 6. The main character must have brown eyes.

Anna, in message 4 I put the instructions. Basically you pick a category, roll to see what description you get, and try to read a book matching that description.

If you can't think of anything, call out for help from the group and one of us can try to read that book for you.

I think we'd better start labeling COMPLETION POSTS so I don't get them confused with selection posts. Does that make sense?

Anna, I put a section on rolling up at the top in message 3 -- either use the web site or you might be able to just yell at your phone. "Hey Siri Roll a dice" works on my iphone.

Yes, it bothers me that "Roll a die" does not work as well.

Or you could roll a physical die at home if you have problems with any of the online ones!

Anna, just making sure -- you can CHOOSE the category (Age, Vocation, Location, Physical Attributes) and then roll for the specific kind of book.

And then if you hate your option you appeal to the team to see if someone will read it for you.

I like Pages for Six because it has a vague reference to dating (Tables for Six is a common dating group thing).

I was kind of hoping Kat would show up to vote, but I haven't heard anything other than her accepting my friend request. Tomorrow morning I'll report her absence so we can get a replacement.

I'm okay with whatever team name we want to go with! I'll go with the majority, because I think they're all good names.

I haven't started a book yet. The book I'm reading now, the character ended up having green eyes. Hoping to find something today that fits! I have a couple other challenge books I need to get to this month, so hopefully one of those has brown eyes.

I like Pages for six too although they're all good.

I'm halfway through my book, when we've finished one, do we roll again for this week, read another from the same roll or do we not read another unless we're rolling someone else's date?

You roll again each time you finish a book. You can pick a new category to roll in or stay with the same one if you prefer.

Amanda, do you want the team to try to read a Brown Eyed MC book for you if we can?

Amanda, the spreadsheet is View Only for me -- is that on purpose? I was going to put in the page with proof of traveling from my book so I don't have to find it again later.

Since Kat hasn't checked in, I get to be part of your team. (I was secretly hoping for the chance to participate. In fact, I picked a category and rolled a couple of days ago because I was curious.)
