I'd love to because this has been on my radar for a long time but I don't think starting a 6th new series this month is sensible.

Same. I really want to read this and have wanted to for a while, but the timing isn't good for me. Maybe we can relist for those who can't join now it in a few months?

Man I loved these.

I finished it yesterday. Thinking of why I loved this when I first read it. It doesn't seem that special to me now.

It was an easy read after I finished the The Shadow Rising. Here to discuss though.

The biggest question after I finished the book:
(view spoiler)[Would I be really that willing to forgive someone who lead my family to catastrophe? (hide spoiler)] I mean my mind wouldn't rest holding that person thinking (view spoiler)[how my mother got shot, brother sacrificed himself and other brother taken from me for a god knows what trial, just because she postponed checking her brothers corpse (hide spoiler)]
Reading what I write made me feel the cruelty in my ideas but (view spoiler)[how can you put someone before family right (hide spoiler)]?

Hey guys, I didn't get any reading done at the weekend as I ended up moving furniture around and doing DIY (which didn't go too terribly!). I only started this last night before bed, im 65 pages in and loving it so far!!

Potentially problematically, I really like both main characters, so I'm rooting for them both, not sure how that's going to work!

I also think the world sound super cool. It's very vivid in my mind, I think Marie Lu definitely writes in a way that's really easy to absorb.

I'm definitely reading more of this tonight so I'll check back in later :).

Up to page 116, still super intrigued. The two characters have (view spoiler)[ finally just met, I'm on edge, one I'd them is clearly going to figure out who the other one is and there's going to be hell on.

I finished it. It was a pretty fast and easy read comparing with all my other reads this month.

I'm giving it a 3.5 to 4 stars. To me it had a bit of the Hunger Games vibe but a little less believable. I liked both June and Day but found the whole story perhaps a little bit shallow. (view spoiler)[to easily granted trust and forgiveness after just two days spent together. Day's mother was killed as well as June's brother and yet both of them easily get over that and bond. And if the girl was supposed to be that smart how come she didn't see through the whole fake murder charge from the start? The whole they kept me busy and burried him fast explanation didn't quite cut it for me. (hide spoiler)]

I would say this book is very good for young people. Once you reach my age however, you tend to be a little more critical towards both storyline and little details. It was a good and entertaining read but I'm not left with an unresisting desire to see what happens next as is the case with Blood Song for instance.

A fast, easy read is definitely what I needed in between the heavier stuff. Sometimes I really enjoy something a bit fluffier that doesn't make me think.

I've actually still got a few pages of Blood Song left, I'm savouring them :D

After Shadow Rising I needed a book like this. And don't leave Blood Song for too late, 2nd book is coming soon

Yes we do!
I had 5stars for it but downrated to 4 after this reread because 3 would be cruel to the vividness of the world Marie Lu provided.

As you said this book is very good for young ppl. I read this book couple of yrs ago and I guess I changed since then.
I guess its about seeing the depth of events, you get it in years. (view spoiler)[Them bonding in agony might be okay and reasonable when I was younger but now, no its absurd. (hide spoiler)]

I completely agree Beste. Besides, the world is very real and it's very engaging and pleasant to read. That's why I also left it at 4.

I'm loving the world, it's so clear and vivid. I'm at page 273 now so nearly finished, it's been a super fun read so far.

when are you people starting 2nd book?

I'm honestly not sure I want to continue with this for now. Would have to borrow the books from the library if I do and I promised myself to finish as many as I can from those that I own.

Can we wait for Charlie to finish also and then decide? If we do continue I'd like to move the date forward a bit. Say around the 23rd if that's ok with you. I have Goodkind starting on the 26th and don't want to be late for that again. :)

Okies. This will be an easy read again so we can just squeeze it whenever you are free. (I only have 6 books scheduled to Feb:) )

It's really a great read. It's quite fluffy, nothing you need to think too hard about :)

I've just finished the last few pages of this, I was saving them. Throughly enjoyable, I gave it 4 stars. Looking forward to the others :)
