Aurora Pavan comes from one of the oldest Stormling families in existence. Long ago, the ungifted pledged fealty and service to her family in exchange for safe haven, and a kingdom was carved out from the wildlands and sustained by magic capable of repelling the world’s deadliest foes. As the sole heir of Pavan, Aurora’s been groomed to be the perfect queen. She’s intelligent and brave and honorable. But she’s yet to show any trace of the magic she’ll need to protect her people.

To keep her secret and save her crown, Aurora’s mother arranges for her to marry a dark and brooding Stormling prince from another kingdom. At first, the prince seems like the perfect solution to all her problems. He’ll guarantee her spot as the next queen and be the champion her people need to remain safe. But the more secrets Aurora uncovers about him, the more a future with him frightens her. When she dons a disguise and sneaks out of the palace one night to spy on him, she stumbles upon a black market dealing in the very thing she lacks—storm magic. And the people selling it? They’re not Stormlings. They’re storm hunters.

Legend says that her ancestors first gained their magic by facing a storm and stealing part of its essence. And when a handsome young storm hunter reveals he was born without magic, but possesses it now, Aurora realizes there’s a third option for her future besides ruin or marriage.

She might not have magic now, but she can steal it if she’s brave enough.

I've started Chapter 2 (view spoiler)[ I like Rora so far, and I don't know how to feel about Cassius, from his pov he seems very controling but not evil but I don't think you can trust him. I think he does want Rora but for what is the question. (hide spoiler)]

I should reread this book hahaha. Maybe I'll see if I can find it.

Chapter 6 (view spoiler)[ I don't like that there is a love triangle coming, even more, because I don't like Locke but I hope he can teach Rora magic and I'm nervous about the black flags! (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 7 (view spoiler)[ I don't really know if we're to suppose trust Cassius, like I kinda like him but I don't know if I can trust, he seems sincere but there is something off too (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 11(view spoiler)[ the more the story goes on the more I hate Locke, he is super controlling and aggressive, the "flirting" during their training came off as predatory (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 15 (view spoiler)[ There is a lot I like about this book but Locke makes me want to rip it in half. There aren't many characters I hate the way I HATE Locke. He is so possessive and controlling, and every time he grabs her (because he always grabs her violently and is always violent in the way he handles her) I have to physically stop myself from ripping the book into pieces. AND OF COURSE, he forces a violent ass kiss on her in this chapter while they're fighting I might add. He acts like her OWNS her and it fills me with RAGE. He better not be the love interest. He is toxic and gross. (hide spoiler)]
